There should be a tab on the end of the cartridge that you pull. As you pull it you will pull a long plastic strip out of the cartridge. This releases the toner so you can use the cartridge.

The printing or handle of some sort will be readable when you install the cartridge. If you look at the side that goes into the printer, you will see some contacts or a small circuit board that will make contact when you slide the cartridge into the printer.

It will go into the printer the same way you will be taking out the old cartridge.

It leaks. It's all over the inside of machine. We don't use this printer a lot because we do design on-line; so it's not from overuse or worn out parts. It just leaks and then causes the printer to stop...

I have had problems with a number of brand new genuine HP toner cartridges leaking on this printer. Strangely, I have had almost no problems with non-OEM cartridges from Cartridge World.

I can’t explain this...and wouldn’t have believed this if I hadn’t experienced it myself.

Try removing all toner cartridges, and carefully cleaning out the printer with canned air. Then replace the leaky toner cartridges with Cartridge World cartridges. This has been my recipe for success with the HP Laserjet 4600.

How do i install a toner chip on my hp Cp2025

TONER CHIP on CP2025 printer:
This resource may help
http://resources.lasertekservices.com/hp-smart-chips-overriding-this-lockout-mechanism-with-reset-chips/
Gives types of chips to use, sales in USA, and certain things to take note of.
The toner reset chip replaces the original HP ID chip and is designed to be used only on refilled HP cartridges.
It is not recommended to force toner cartridges to run on empty, as this can cause damage to both the printer and the toner cartridge.
The reset chips are dedicated to one color only, so that user can not swap toners.
As for actual physical installation, just push the new ID chip in until it clicks into place. The correctly manufactured ones should be a snug fit.
I have seen techs using a drop of contact glue behind the chip-board to secure it.
Copper pads face outwards towards matching printer pins.
See photo for polarity 'square' pad.
My printer is Samsung, not HP, so your toner cartridge may be a different shape.

Pull tab from toner cartridge

Try turning the printer off wait a few minutes and turn back on. also clean the contacts on the side of the printer (inside of the machine.) If not it could be a main board issue.

Cant instal this ink cartridge

This pull tab is on the cartridge to prevent it from leaking during shipment. You have to remove it to let the toner get to the drum.

I am using the workcentre 4150 and the printer keeps giving me an error saying. "toner supply failed, remove seal tape from toner cartridge and reinstall" I can't find any tape on toner...

The seal tape might be inside the cartridge, attached to a pull-tab.

I am only specifically familiar with the HP toner cartridges, which have a colored plastic pull-tab attached to the tape which seals the toner drum during transit. You have to pull on the tab which in turns yanks the sealing tape out after it.

Each HP cartridge has a small instruction sheet included which shows the location of the pull-tab. Perhaps your Xerox cartridge came with a similar diagram sheet?
