Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
I have 2 Olivetti Lettera 32s, each has a problem that means I can't use it. Problem 1-I was fiddling with the Olivetti and trying to clean it when I unhooked the string under the carriage which I assume moves it along. I unhooked it thinking I could simply reattach it with a coat hanger hook later. I've done this however the carriage doesn't move hen I type anymore. Help! Problem 2 - On the other typewriter, the tabs don't work. I set and reset the tabs however I can still type beyond the tab an the edge of the paper. Please help!
Problem 1 means the the spring on the springdrum has unwound. It is a job winding it and hooking the carriage cord back up. Might want to have a pro do this one.
Prob 2..some lettera 32's had preset tabs every 10 spaces. Also you can type by a tab..it is not a margin..it just stops the carriage when they are set.
