Flexion1: Cash Register Casio TE-2400

Hi flexion1, You sent the following solution to me in relation to my last query:
Hi. The previous owner just had PLUs linked to the depts that suited them.
(Question: HOW DO I REMOVE THE LINKS?)
To link PLUs to depts,
Turn key to Program mode. 3 SUBTOTAL, 1166 SUBTOTAL
Now type the PLU number you want to link. E.g if you want to link PLU 6, then press 6 on the number pad (don't press the actual PLU, just type its number on the number pad)
Now press the button marked PLU. It should be near the other function buttons. Now type the department number to link to. Use two digits. E.g to link to dept 5, type 05 on the number pad.
Press CASH. Press SUBTOTAL

(Question: This procedure didn't work. Once i pressed the button marked "PLU" it gave a long beeping sound and did not save any changes made. Did we miss anything???)
As for NO SALE button, does it actually show the command NO SALE, or NS on the display when you press it? It may have been removed from the keyboard. Does the drawer open when you finish a sale normally?
(Question: NO SALE or NS does not show on the display screen after pressing the button. HOW can I program it back to the keyboard if it has been removed??? Yes the drawer does open once the sale is finished)

There is normally a setting in key features for VAT breakdown on the CASH button. Make sure this is set so that it prints the breakdown.
(Question: How can I set these key features for VAT breakdown on the CASH button in order to print the VAT for each taxable item sold???) Add on means you sell at a tax exclusive price and the tax is added on to that by the register. Add in means you sell at a tax inclusive price and want the register to show how much of it was tax. Hope this helps. See how you get on.
In relation to the add-in tax and add-on tax, your explanation was sufficient enough so thanks for that.
However i hope you can assist me with the difficulties i experienced when trying to follow the recommendations that you had given to me previously. Hope to hear from you soon. Many Thanks! =)

You need to check that your PLU button really is a PLU button for a start. In REG mode, press 1 then the PLU button. It should register the product that is also on your first item button. If you press 2 then PLU, it should register the second product on your keyboard. If it doesn't then the PLU button has been moved from the original location. I can give you the code to replace it.
To set the NO SALE button back to location, Turn key to Program mode, 4 SUBTOTAL 41 Now press the NO SALE button on your keyboard. SUBTOTAL Now turn the key back to REG and try the NO SALE button. If it still does nothing then you probably have special programming to disallow the NO SALE command. Let me know.
There is a setting for VAT breakdown printing in the table under the heading 'TRANSACTION KEY PROGRAM' Find this in your manual and under it you will see a table with the heading <CASH>,<CHARGE>,<CHECK>. Near the bottom of the table is the breakdown setting. I assume you are familiar with this programming as you said you had tried other VAT settings. If you just want this setting turned on, use 100000 when programming. Otherwise, you will need to create a number depending upon what features you want to enable for each payment button.

These three things are all non standard for cash registers and will require codes that I don't have. they can probably be achieved but it will require the machine setting tables from the manual to set the options. My notes are incomplete in this area. I can tell you what to look for if you are able to obtain the dealer manual

Casio te-2400 cash register- making transactions

Try this: Turn key to program mode 0 CASH SUBTOTAL 3 SUBTOTAL 0 CASH SUBTOTAL
This should remove the preset amount from the CASH button. Now it should work normally when finishing the sale.
