Sounds like you will need to update the software for your gps. If you have the manual still it will have step by step instructions on how to reinstall the software/drivers onto your gps.
That should fix the problem if it is a software issue. Otherwise its just a faulty GPS and needs to be repaired under warranty or replaced.
