My letter k on my keyboard does not work how can i fix it

Plug in a USB keyboard into your laptop and see if the letter "k" works on it.If it does, then your laptop keyboard isn't working properly.

If the USB keyboard letter k doesn't work, then there is a Windows operating system issue that is keep your letter k from working.

What is your laptop brand and model?

This should be leakage in the keyboard touching sensors. Cleaning inside the keyboard may resolve this issue, otherwise you need to replace the keyboard.

May be better just to buy another $19 keyboard. But if you have some time.

I say try!

The letter d sticks on my gateway laptop. I use air can..clean it with alcohol swabs. Its relatively new kp..about 8 monyhs old

You should be able to pop off the key and then see if the problem in in the key mechanics or with the pad itself. Either way, using alcohol swabs could fix the problem.

Certain letters/characters will not work.

Maybe: If it is a wireless keyboard....perhaps new batteries...but that is unlikely.  Usually when the letter buttons die in a group like that, the best thing for you is to bite the bullet and buy another keyboard.  Perhaps there was a spill on the keyboard...perhaps that particular group just gave out.  The good news is that keyboards are relatively cheap...and there is nothing quite like the feel of springy, new keys under your fingers.
