Printing onto photo paper from mac g4 computer

I must be silly but I cannot work out how to print to 6x4 photo paper from my computer. Where should I load the paper - the cassette or the back feeder? what orientation should it be and why does it still keep printer to A4 size when I have selected  fit to paper?
Help!!

I put the 4x6 in the bottom cassette. I place it with the shiny side down. Landscape is when the 6" length is front to back in the tray.

I use the cassette exclusively for 4x6 and use the back tray for all else. It works great.

Using Easy print

If you are using Easy Photo Print ( highly recommended) select your images, then select your paper type and size, then select your layout and print.

If you are printing direct or wirelessly, your options are more limited to A4 or 6x4".

I think that if you use the bottom tray to load the paper, you can use the different sizes of paper to print. Make sure to click the second button inside the lid that shows the direction the paper is fed into the printer. hope this helps!

make sure you have photo paper in the small tray and the tray is pushed in the whole way. The green light will come on. Load the paper with the shiny side down.

Printing a 6x4 photo on my new c6280 printer and the paper jammed.Have taken the back off to retrieve the paper but can't see any paper at all.Where can it be?

If the line feed doesn't feed the paper out here is a picture of the way to clear the paper jam. If this continues you do have a one year warranty. Also storing paper where it cannot absorb moisture is good practice. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01423349&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3194498&rule=26368〈=en

The top-loading sheet feeder accommodates approximately 150 sheets (depending on weight), and the front feeder is good for around 100 sheets. Actual media sizes supported by the main feeder (top-loading) include A4, B5, A5, Letter, Legal, Envelopes (DL size or Commercial 10), 10x15cm(4" x 6"), 10x18cm, 13x18cm, 20x25cm, and Credit Card (54x86mm), while the front feeder is less accommodating with just A4, Letter, and B5.
