Ticking noise (by 3 users)

Range made constant ticking noise by left knob. Was repaired 3 times, still same problem. Range was just replaced, and still same problem.

Breaker has 2x 40 Amp connected.

P.S. Ticking noise is there when range is OFF!

I think I have the same problem. I have the same ticking noise from the custom control switch, but the ticking comes and goes. Most of the time it clicks on and off like a 'normal' burner, but at times it clicks on and off very fast (every second) for 15 seconds or so then goes away. Then a while later it does the same thing. Is this considered 'normal' for this burner?? Help

I have the same trouble with my NEW Jenn-Air down draft electic range. I have had someone out, but they could not find a problem. It clicks constantly, like it is trying to turn on. I am afraid it will start a fire!

PROBLEM MAY BE WITH ELETRONIC CUSTOM CONTROL. IT MAY BE CAUSED BY ELECTRICAL LINE NOISE. YOU CAN TRY A LINE SILENCER ON THE WIRES RUNNING TO SWITCHS' JONES PLUG. THERE IS ALSO A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE NEWER CUSTOM CONTROLS. HOWEVER THE PART NUMBER FOR SWITCH STAYED THE SAME. I HAVE ORDERED THE SWITCH AND STILL HAD SAME PROBLEM. tRY THE LINE SILENCER. . . THE PART NUMBER I USE IS 12001500 MAYTAG NOISE SUPPRESSOR. IT WORKS IN SOME INSTANCES.
