Seems like the old MS Antivirus is popping up again, using a different name. It's a scare-ware malware. This scare-ware rogue anti-virus, has changed names many times,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Antiviru... My suggestion would be to download the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, and burn it to disk. Then unplug the ethernet cable to your computer, turn the computer on, put the disk in your optical drive. Information on Malwarebytes,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malwarebyte... Start the machine up in safe mode...you do this by turning the pc completely off...wait 5 to 10 seconds to let it shut down...turn the pc back on and press the F8 key repeatedly. It should send you to an advanced boot menu and from there choose boot in safe mode...If you have another PC you can download a program called Malwarebytes (Free) and put it on a flash drive and run it on the infected PC. Or you can choose to boot in safe mode with networking and download malwarebytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org/ hope this helps

It could be a rogue program that only tricks the user into thinking their computer is infected. When the program pops up, there should be a name in the upper area of the program. Write that down and do a google search on how to remove it. You will probably have to use someone else's computer to do the search as these rogue programs tend to lock the system up so you can't do anything but click on the links in the program or shut down the computer. There are quite a few steps and there is not enough room here to put them all down.

How protect my pc from virus and what is the best antivirus software

In order to protect your computer from different viruses and other malicious things that can get in to your computer is to install some security software like anti virus and anti malware software. For a good anti virus that is free you can go to Avast or Avira they are free and do always update the database with the latest update and can protect your computer always.
For additional security on your computer you can also use this software for malware removal its called Malwarebytes. All of this software are free and they work great for me and you can download them from download.com.

How can i restore factory settings on my acer laptop if not if i instal an anti virus will it get rid of the virus that are already there or just protect against them in the future!

If your machine came with a restore cd or dvd, you can use that to restore your machine back to factory defaults. However, any information you have stored on the hard drive will be destroyed in the process.

Some antivirus software installations will scan for and remove existing viruses, but some will not. If you think you have a virus and you need to keep the information on your machine from deletion, I suggest having someone knowledgeable in the removal of viruses do it for you.

Anti-Virus software is primarily meant to PREVENT a virus infection from occurring. I have however had clients who installed the software, and then disabled it while they "worked" on downloading some suspicious files because they were annoyed by the pop-ups that kept appearing telling them that the file they were downloading was infected....

Bottom line, the software will HELP protect if used properly, but will do NO good if disabled. If you can't get the virus removed on your own, contact me and I will give you instructions on how to send me the computer for disinfecting.

How will i remove the virus manually?

i hope you got norton off your system before putting AVG free on. Virus programs try to fight off other virus programs by postiong false virus claims to erase the other program. eventually they will kill your hard drive. You need a product key for a good virus protectant. Norton or CA offer good, reliable protection for your dollar. What i would do, is back up any really important stuff you have there, format your hard drive and install Vista again if you have the disc and then re-install it to permanetly delete viruses. Also your system maybe slow because VIsta needs at least a dual core processor and 2 GB RAM to work like a XP machine
