Hello murz42
This error code is generated when the Wii console is unable to connect to the access point.
First of all, check that your router is compatible with the Wii
www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/support/wii_support_5251_8071.html?id=8072
Are you using WEP or WPA security on your router? Log into your router using the default IP (if you don´t know this, or how to obtain it, consult your routers manual).
If you are using 64-bit encryption, the WEP key is a 10-character key consisting of numbers or the letters A - F. If you are using 128-bit encryption, it will consist of 26 characters.
The WEP key must be hexadecimal. This means that it consists of the numbers 0-9, the letters A - F. It cannot consist of any special signs or letters.
If you are using WPA, the Wii is compatible with the following types:
- WPA - PSK (TKIP)
- WPA - PSK (AES)
- WPA2 - PSK (AES)
Next, check if your router is using MAC filtering. You still need to still be logged into your router. Find the section for MAC filtering, which is usually located under a "security" tab or something similar. If the MAC filtering is "on" or "enabled", enter the Wii´s MAC address to the list of approved MAC addresses. To find this, go to the Wii Channel menu, select "Wii settings" - "Internet" - "Console Settings". The MAC address is displayed on the first line.
Hope this helps. If you require any further help, please don´t hesitate to ask.
Good luck
