Possibly this is ruined. remove battery and sim, leave all items in a warm dry place for a few days, put it all back together, you may get lucky!

Not really, the ABS etc doesn't power up until the ignition is on, check that the light in the boot area is actually off when tailgate is closed, also check glove box light is out when lid closed. the obvious one is that the interior lights all actually go out. Regards Mike

Solar Chargers Save your phone at the beach

Solar chargers are great for commuters who always need their devices to be charged up to 100%. While there has been a rising trend to have charging ports on trains and buses there are still places where you will find yourself without any way to charge your dying digital device.

Luckily the technology behind solar panel charging has come down in size and price in recent years. And since most of the time that you are on the go the sun is up you are able to charge your solar panel charger all day long.

My friends and I love to spend the day at the beach, but the problem with the beach is there are no power outlets to charge cell phones and ereaders. Which is fine when you are spending the day with friends because then we won't be on the phone all day, but the battery still drains.

Especially because we switch out who has to sit with the towels bags and cell phones, which usually involves them taking pictures and posting them on Facebook or them playing games. So we each have our turn to drain our cell phone's battery.

It has happened a few times that our phones have died and we had to beg someone else on the beach to lend us a phone so we could call a cab to come pick us up.

One of my friends recently picked up a solar charger and brought it to the beach on our next trip. While everyone else's phones died he was able to charge his phone up to call the cab. This inspired the rest of us that solar chargers were not as dorky as we had thought.

Now when we go to the beach there is always one person who has to sit with the bags and cell phones, as well as our little solar charger farm that we set up.

Its a funny sight all those little panels laying the sand, but we haven't been stuck with a dead battery since we got them!

Do I need to wear water shoes when snorkeling?

Many beaches have soft, sandy bottoms so you don't need water shoes. Every so often though, I snorkel where the bottom is rocky or has turtelgrass or coral bits or something. I would recommend you research the beach where you will be snorkeling to see what the bottom is like. When in doubt, bring water shoes along just in case.

All of a sudden my keys on blackberry curve will not work, side buttons (camera, etc) ) WILL NOT RESPOND, all it will do is boot up, i can scroll up and down but cant click on anything....i didnt get it...

Hi
sinc your side key also not working seems like your phone is moisture damge from track ball area.
IF your keypad lights up that means the keypad is not loose. If not then your keypad connections are loose.
you may have use the track ball with your hand wet that cause this problem.
basically you need to clean your phone from inside.
thank you.

It got wet on the beach. water went into the camera and it won't start anymore.

The best way to try to recover items that have had water damage is to place them in a container with the gel packs you find in new shoes. If none of those are available to you try putting the camera in a ziplock bag with rice. This will absorb any moisture left in the camera. Take out the battery and memory card before trying either of the prior options.
After you have let the camera sit with the gel or rice overnight or for several hours, remove the camera from the bag and blow off any dust from the rice. Make sure that the inside of the camera is clean and dry (where the battery goes) Then put the battery and memory card back in. Make sure that the battery is fully charged and try turning it on.
If that doesn't work try going to a specialty camera store such as B&W. They can help you further and instruct you on how to procede.
It is advised not to get any digital electronic wet as most are not water proof and will be damaged by any exposure to water.

Some water dripped down from the floor above right on my receiver and it shut down. Now that it sat for a bit it turned on but won't go off headphone's even though no headphone's plugged in I...

When water spills on electronic products it causes corrosion to the circuit board and to the components in different circuits, unless you went inside the unit immediately after the water went into the unit and cleaned the effected areas some components and circuit traces have been already damaged and the longer the water sits inside the more damage it can do. Circuit traces may need cleanning and some capacitors or other components may need replacing because water is conductive and can create short circuits to diodes + trasistors, IC chips.

Car sat too long with e brake on , back tires wont turn

it is possible for the e brake cables to seize up after a long spell of sitting in-opt. not to worry though, what you will need to do is have a qualified mechanic raise the vehicle and if you can remove the rear hubs, i understand they may be very difficult to remove, you may have to soak all accessible parts with penatrating oil for awhile and trry to work the Park Brake mechanisms to break free if possible, the most you may be required to do is cut the cables and replace them with new cables... jsut make sure when you are done that everything is in correct operating condition, after all this is the E brake system you are dealing with, if you are unsure of your ability then by al means have a qualified technician or repair facility do the repairs, it's not worth the liability now days to guess... please rate my help thanks...

A elephant sat on my phone and it wont stop vibrating please help

Most mobile phones are not meant to withstand an elephant sitting on them. In fact, over time, just sitting on them in your back pocket can cause damage. The only solution is if you have insurance claim it. If not, then check Ebay for a good used or new phone, go to the store, renew your contract, or I guess don't have a phone.
Sorry for the unfortunate accident!
