I need the unlock code

All you need to do is call AT&T and let them know which carrier you are with right now. They will ask for the IMEI number, and then give you the 8 digit code. It takes only a few minutes and my experience with their customer service is really good.

I told them how i was with a different carrier and the phone was a kinda "hand-me-down" present from my aunt when she was with Cingular (like 3yrs ago). They were like "ok, let's get this fixed right away". They take you through the steps (1. turn on your phone with your carrier's sim 2.press unlock option 3. enter the 8 digit code).

Your phone unlocks immediately and it works. Just call their Customer service "Technical Support" option. Its FREE.
