Pavilion Laptop Screen Problem

My Pavilion DV6, which I purchased June 26/09 started having screen problems July 12/10 - 12 days after the warranty is up. Three Quarters of the desktop is covered with 2 large black ink blobs (kind psychiatrists use in their assessments) along with many narrow, vertical, red and black lines below it.
Is this screen toast

It sounds like your screen was man-handled. You will need to replace the screen. You can sometimes buy them used online or you can get a new one from HP. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I have hp pavilion dv6-3231nr entertaitment pc when em trying to install window xp on my laptop after loading drivers the blue screen appears every time....plzzz help me out

That is because XP is not compatible with this laptop. The drivers for the mother board won't work correctly. Vista is about as old as you can go otherwise some of the drivers won't work.

Grinding fan noise HP dv6 1130TX

First, if you just purchased the unit, you should have the problem fixed by HP under warranty.
HP offers a extended 1 year from the date of purchase. Thats 2 years on startup problems.
You are correct on the noise comming from the fan.
This will not go away and may get worse.
If the fan slows down or stops when needed, the CPU will go for a walk.
Email HP customer care and log your problem.
Make sure you have reg. your unit first.

Black screen

If the screen is breaking up into multiple screens, the video resolution isn't set correctly. Change the video properties back to the native resolution.

Right-click on an empty area of your desktop screen. Click on Properties at the bottom. Now click on the Settings tab.
The Screen Resolution slider should be all the way to the right, close to -> More.
The Colors should be set to the highest setting.

When you close the lid, you may have your laptop set to Sleep Mode, check that. You may also have your screen saver set to Blank, and no screen saver has been chosen.

(1.Screen Saver: Right-click on empty area of desktop>Properties>Screen Saver.

2.Sleep Mode: Start>Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance>Power Options>Power Buttons>When I press the sleep button on my computer>Then choose what you want it to do)

If none of this helps, I suggest you have a problem that HP needs to repair. Since you bought this dv9700t last July, would I be correct in assuming it's still under warranty?
