Question about Friedrich CP24E30 Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Hi! I have a Friedrich CP24E30 air conditioner and as expected, it auto stops when the desired temperature is reached. The problem is that as the house warms up it does not auto start again unless I press the button. This unit is only about a week old so there shouldn't be any problems. Am I doing something wrong?

Air conditioner does not shut off automatically when the desired temperature is reached. It just keeps running. It is set on the Auto setting.

Most usually this is a defective thermostat ( the thing you set for the temperature). This can be replaced, and can be purchased in hardware stores, home centers, and on the computer. Whether you could do it yourself would depend on your electrical prowess.
God bless your efforts.

My a/c does not stop even it reaches its desired room temperature

Look for a 'power saver' option in the controls. It should turn the fan off when it is not cooling or heating.

Do Goodman Split System fans turn off when the compressor shuts off? Is there a setting so the fan stops when the room reaches the desired temperature?

That is the job of the thermostat, but only if the "Fan-on/auto switch is set to auto. Look on your thermostat for the switch.

My Friedrich A/C is turning on and off by itself, can you help me?

when the room reaches the set temperature the unit is made to cut off until heating or cooling is needed again, this is the units way of not cooling or heating too much.

I have a freidrich model cp24e30 ariconditioner I just installed. Where is the drainage plug located

On the condenser / outside left rear corner about 4 incues in from the corner and left side as you look at it there is a punch out hole in the drain pan. The newer AC Units are designed to use the plastic fan blade of the condenser fan to splash water on the condenser and evaporate the water. Most of the time it is not necessary to open this drain hole unless you live in a damp climate where the home constantly has a higher internal humidity percentage. It is however necessary to have the unit serviced at regular intervals for coil and fan cleaning due to the fact that dust becomes a caked up goo over time especially on the condenser coil and the 2 fans.

If you feel that you need to open the hole in the drain pan trhen you will also need to install the 3 X 5 inch external drain catch basin with 3 screws and possibly connect an external drain hose and piping.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Compressorruns fora short time

the thermostat controlling your unit likely has a window type of programming for digital or mechanical adjustment for older style thermostat that sets a minimum off temp and a maximum on temp, there may be an adjustment to set the range it operates at, otherwise you may have a defective thermostat controller unit and it needs replacing also insure that the temperature sensing element is clean and free of dust build-up and your filter is clean

Lg heat runs all the time

It sounds like you have the fan turned on. If you go to the stat, you should see an auto button, or switch for the fan. If you just switch it to auto, the fan will stop, and only start when the unit calls for it, hope that helps
