It would help if you put a little effort into what is going on with your pool other than it is green There are many factors why a pool goes green. 99.9% of the time it is due to inproper maintainence. What are the chemicals running at? What is the ppm of your salt How many hours a day are you running the generator? Are you using an algaecide? How about a stabilizer? I will wait to see if I hear back from you. A little elbow grease and I can get you to clear water Also would like to know what specific filter/pump you are using with the salt generator

It's not makeing chlorine. You need to shock the pool and balance with chemicals.Your salt system needs to be cleaned or it's at the end of it's life

Can i use a sand filter with the intex krystal clear saltwater system?

Yes you can.
The saltwater chlorinator is connect to the outlet water pipe from the sand filter before the water returns to the pool.
Depending upon the model of the saltwater chlorinator It may need to be mounted horizontally or vertically, check with the installation instructions..

I have a 15x 42" intex metal frame pool an i also

Most likely you are not. The manual is very conservative!!! I have a 14000 gallon pool and I run my intex salt system during the summer at 10 to 12 hrs pump and 8 to 10 hrs chlorination in between those 12 hrs and my pool stays very clear. But..... If you don't clean the unit and let it alarm for low flow, low salt or not run the unit log enough, you WILL HAVE GREEN WATER!!!
Hope this helps, If it does, please rate the tip!

I own a saltwater system for my above the ground pool i am having trouble with the water turning green can you use other chemicals with this salt water system.if not wat can i do to solve this problem

Is the water turning green because of metal or because of growth? Is your salt water system making chlorine? If you are not making chlorine ... well that may be why you are green., On the other hand, if you have metal in the water and you ARE making chlorine, that is why you are green.

Please have your water tested for metal and if present, use the sequestering agent recommended by your professional pool supplier, to remove the metal.

A problem with the salt water system is the chlorine you make from the salt is not protected by cyanuric acid AKA stabilizer. I recommend you get your chlorine up to about 20 ppm (shock mode) using the kind of chlorine recommended (is compatable with the chlorine you are making) by your pool supply professional. Add enough cyanuric acid to achieve at least 60 ppm.

Let me know what you are doing ...

We recently purchased the intex saltwater system for our above ground pool. We read all the instructions and followed them however our water is still cloudy and a light shade of green. what can we do

You need a sequestering agent to remove the metal from your water ... let the chlorine go to nothing ... put in some 'metal out' or similar according to the instructions on the container ... then start again with the chlorine.

Chlorine and copper and/or iron = green water

My intex saltwater system green light then low salt light

You need to add salt to the water. How much depends on what size pool you have. Your owner's manual will tell you exactly how much to add when the low salt light comes on. On my Intex I would need to add 35 lbs.
