Press "F8" repeatedly before the Windows icon shows up on your screen.

Scroll down and select the boot option you want.

I am unable to access the internet from sleep mode Can only get on internet from shut down mode

Three possible causes of sleep mode. first, an extensive screensaver with password lock prevents display. A condition that is observable as a blankscreen also known as sleep mode. Second, a computer power saver settings that shutsdown during idleness. Third, An improper shut down of the computer would have caused a sleep mode to save the system data files.

Restoring the computer to regular functionalioty

First solving predictable sleep mode settings
1. A movement of mouse pointer across the screen should reestablish unprotected password modes
a. password protected sleep mode would display an promp message requiring key code soon after the mouse pointer has changed direction

sloving unpredictable sleep mode settings
1.A computer power saver, screen saver, or splash screen displays prevnting programs acess would require manually powering off the computer system.
a. A manual power back on of the system should restore to program functionality mode

It just freezes up when you turn it on,what do you do?

Try booting in safe mode and see if it happens. To boot in safe mode shut the computer completely down...when you turn it on tap the F8 key multiple times and it should take you to an advance boot menu. Choose safe mode or safe mode with networking. If it boots fine that way, you may want to disable some items in your start up. You do this by clicking the start button--> click run--> type the letters msconfig (without spaces) under the startup tab, you may see a whole bunch of stuff check. Uncheck all uneeded software starting up. reboot the machine in regular mode and see if that helps. post back with your findings-

Hangs on startup

Try booting in safe mode then run a chkdisk scan to see if it shows errors. To boot in safe mode power the computer completely down...wait a few seconds...when you power it back up keep tapping the F8 key on your keyboard. If done correctly a black advanced boot screen will appear with a choice to boot in safe mode. If you are able to boot in safe mode, it's likely that your hdd isn't the problem. It has to do with something in your startup programs. To disable some unwanted startup items Click Start--> RUN-> in the box type msconfig then click on the tab that says startup and uncheck any unwanted items. Reboot the machine and see if it boots regular.

Only accessing the internet on safemode

Do a System Restore in Safe mode choose a date way before this problem started. If that does not work. Go back in safe mode with networking. Download Malwarebytes (you could just search this one in google.) Once that is downloaded do an update after which do a full system scan.

Just bought an acer aspire ax1200-b1581a.it worked fine for a few days now it will pop up there was a problem with the internet and shut the itnernet down,it started out going blue screen and at the bottom...

I think the problem is related to virus. Try restoring your PC to an earlier date 9 a date when it worked fine). You do this from Start-> Programs -> Accesories -> System Tools -> System Restore. Select
Restore my computer to an earlier time and Click Next. A date calender will appear, select the preferred date and click Next twice. The system will automatically restart when restoration is done.

If u are not abe to run System Restore then you need to enter safe mode by pressing F8 during booting and selecting Safe Mode from the menu that appears. In safe mode you will be asked a question, you have to select no, and system restore will start

If restoring your pc does not solve the problem then you may need to reinstall your OS.

Trouble

First, I would go into safe mode by pressing F8 when the computer is booting. Select the option labeled "Safe Mode with Networking"
Then I would perform a defrag on the C:drive.
Once the defrag is complete, I would try Internet Explorer and see if it will get online.
If it gets online, restart the computer and see it it will work in regular mode.

Let me know what it does.
