Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea

From the Canon owner's manual:

"Error codes 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80: Shooting is not possible due to an error. Turn the camera off and on again or re-install the battery. Operate the power switch, remove and install the battery pack again, or use a Canon lens (p.32, 28)."

Focus repair af

I'm surprised it works at all at f/2.8. The FEE indicates that the aperture ring is not at its minimum setting (largest f/number).

Turn the aperture ring to its minimum setting. You should be able to control the aperture from the camera body, the same way as on a lens without an aperture ring.

Hey there! I'm so glad for sites like these! Well, the point is, I got a FEE error on my NIKON D80 after putting on an old NIKON 28-85mm AF macro lens. Actually on aperture F22 it's working...

Leave the aperture ring on the lens at f/22. You can control the aperture from the camera body, the same way as on a lens without an aperture ring, by turning the command dial.

I have an error code on the top display of FEE when I put on my 28-70 lens

Turn the aperture ring on the lens to its smallest setting (largest f/number) and lock it in place. You can control the aperture from the camera, just as you would on a lens without an aperture ring.

I get a fEE on my control panel after adding a 28-85 lens in addition there is a bell sound that keeps going off? What do I do to make it so that I can take photos with this lens?

If your lens has an aperture ring, do note that most of these lenses require the ring to be locked at a certain position for it to work. In the course of using the lens, you may have accidentally unlocked the aperture ring and moved it out of position. This is a common problem.

To fix this error, try this:

1. Turn off camera
2. Turn the aperture ring clockwise and then lock it
3. Turn on the camera

If you still encounter the same problem, repeat the same steps but turn the aperture ring counter-clockwise. Hope this helps.

Canon EOS Rebel K2 constant low battery indicator light

Canon also uses the low battery Icon as a generic error code. Try taking the lens off the camera. If this fixes the problem the lens needs a repair (most likely the aperture unit). If not then the camera needs the repair (either the shutter or dc-dc converter circuit).

Either gear box problem ( sand/ dirt )or lens is impacted. First problem not expensive to cure but the second requres lens unit to be replaced : probably uneconomical to repair; get a quote from camera repair outfit in your area.
