I installed ValuSoft's program, Print Workshop 2008, on my external hard drive ("I") and it will not work, and I cannot uninstall the program. A message comes up saying, "The installer has insufficient privileges to modify this file. I:/uninstall.bat) Can you help me uninstall the program, please?

This problem has also just about devastated all the other programs I have on my external hard drive (drive "I") and I can't access them. I'm in a mess, and hope you can help me?

I don't know if I have administrator rights?
    I have no idea what they are . . . .?

  • fr417 Apr 20, 2008

I don't have any IM programs so I guess we can't "screen share," but is there any other way we can communicate?

First Solution:-

1. If you have copied a particular game's folder to the external drive, go to Start menu > Programs.
2. Right click on the file name of the game.
3. Click on "Properties"
4. Go to "shortcut" page and change the "Target" path directing the EXE file to the folder in the external drive where you have copy-pasted the your game.
5. Click on "Apply" and "OK".
6. Now, try to start the game, and you should be able to play.

An alternate solution is given below.

In both the cases (internet game / purchased games):-
1. First plug in the external hard drive to your computer.
2. You will have to run the installation file of the game (both purchased and internet download) and select the folder path directing it to the external hard drive.
3. For some games, you may have to uninstall the existing game first to re-install and select the desire folder path (external drive).
4. Games will be installed in external drive and also available in start menu > programs > "your game".

Happy gaming! :)

I purchased Print Workshop 2009 at a store yesterday and was wondering if I am not missing a disk and some directions in the box? I would like to know what it "should contain". It only has one...

Kelly,

No doubt what you have purchased is a DVD. To install the program you will need a DVD/ROM drive. (If you only have a CD drive, it will not install.)

When you install it, there will be "Help" available on the program, perhaps even a tutorial also.

Drive C, full

Save all your files, your disk is risking to collapse at any time.
You cannot efficently run Vista on a 10 GB hard disk.
Minim efficient size it will be 40 GB or so.

Delete as many useless files as you can, use the hard drive cleaning tool that you find under all programs/accessories/system tools.

To save your file you can use the backup option in control panel, and save all files to an external USB stick or external hard drive or, do not use CD RW because the disk is full and there will be no space for disk image on hard drive.

If you want to keep using Vista I suggest replacing the hard drive for a bigger one.

I have a Maxtor 6Y120Lo internal hard drive which is my "C" drive it is nearly full Can I add another hard drive and double my "C" drive

You can add another hard drive, but it won't double your C drive; it will just show up as another hard drive.

However, using a program like Acronis, you can hook up the 2nd hard drive, make an exact image of your c drive on the new drive, then connect the new drive in the old drive's place and there you have added more space on your c drive as it will automatically become the c drive.

I cannot install Print Workshop 2008. I have tried going to RUN, and installing device updates, but nothing works. Am I out $20. I had a problem with Print Workshop 2004 but at least I could install...

Usually you just put the CD in the drive and it automatically runs. Do you have more than one CD? Sure you're starting with the right one? Once you have the CD in the drive, double click on My Computer, then double click on the Compac Disk drive icons. If that doesn't start it, it will at least display the names of the files on the CD. Look for the Setup program and double click on that. Good luck.
