Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Lexmark Printer x4270 prints lightly. I've tried all of FaxYa's solutions. Could the Indicator Fullness Bar not be working correctly? Perhaps I just need a new black cartridge?

Yes. Turning it of AC seemed to do the job. I can only print in "Best" mode, but I can at least print. Thank you.

Hi:
I suggest you check out your printer properties and check to make sure you do not have the settings to print in Grey scale mode, but color mode. Also a new cartridge may solve your problems, Here is a solution you might try out also, Turn off the printer and disconnect from AC, take the print cartridge out of the unit and using some achochol and a Q-tip clean the copper contact pads on the cartridge, also where you took out the cartridge in the cartridge well there you will see lots of rows of copper contact pins, clean them with the Q-tip and achocol also... Replace the cartridge and do a head alignment and cleaning then print a test page to insure good printing....Good luck

Windows vista is a brand new OS and many printer manufacturers have had to produce new drivers to run on these OS. I would visit lexmark website and download the new driver fo your printer and OS (vista).

I think the problem is that lexmark never made this printer mac os compatible. I have one and the disk it came with was for windows only, while i have a 3300 series and that came with a disk for both windows and mac.

Blurry printing fro lexmark x4270

May be too much info blocking up print memory. Before printing off sites, make sure you clear print queue and slect printer friendly versions. Check to see if your printer has a work online or offline setting in preferences too.
