Question about Hayward Comfort Zone Electric Spa Heater 11kw

Heater wont stay on. HELP!

I have a 220V comfortzone XI 11.0 spa heater. When everything first kicks on, the heater stays on for 10 minutes or so getting the temperature to roughly 75-80 degrees. Then it shuts off. Even when the knob on the outside it turned fully to HOT, it wont turn back on for a good 10-15, this time only staying on for a minute or 2. I asked Hayward service guys about it, and they seem to be set on the fact the water has low pressure and this is causing it. Firstly, the filter is brand spanking new, and has no clogs. Second, the motor and pump are made for a pool. So there is no way there is no enough pressure. The jets even start to make your back hurt if you sit in front of them too long. Yet, Hayward is still set on the fact there is not enough pressure. What do I do?

Have the Hayward guys come out and prove to you that it is indeed low pressure and then get an estimate for repair costs. Assuming there is no warranty in effect, you might want to locate the heater manufacturer for guidance. They may have a website that may be of help.

SOURCE: Hayward Spa Heater ignites for 2 seconds and shuts off.

Sounds like this is a flame sensor issue. It is not detecting the flame.

SOURCE: 1 year old hayward h1001d pool heater clicking

Actually, the clicking is likely causing the shaking. Inside the manifold of a H100 is a stainless steel diverter plate that send some of the passing water into the heat exchanger and lets the rest past and back to the pool. When it breaks, you will hear a 'clicking' noise at it rattles in the water path. When it breaks, the flow to the heat exchanger is intermittent and you will begin to boil the water, causing the shaking. This situation is dangerous, especially without a pressure relief in the heater or pipe. As long as your water chemistry is sound, Hayward will usually cover this under warranty even if the unit is over a year old. Jandy Lite2 Pool heater will not stay lit after firing.

Look at the sensor that tells unit that everything is lit. There should be some sort of sensor that tells the ECU that the ingnition area is a burn temp. It sounds like the unit can't tell that flame is lit. Hope this helps.
