Usually this means the software driver is corrupt. Try reinstalling the driver that came with the webcam, and then try it on the free webcam test site.

Camera back will not open

Make sure the camera is finished with all the pictures and it has full rewound into the canister. This camera counts down so if it's showing a number in the finder then there is pictures left to take. If you don't want these frame put the lens cap on shift to manual focus and manual mode turn the camera on and release the shutter until the pictures are all finished. it will then auto load the canister and you can release the back with the little leaver on the back left side of the camera. Here is a diagram and loading instructions.

HAVE NIKON D40 THE LARGE MONITOR AT BACK OF CAMERA HAS BEEN TURNED OFF SOMEHOW HOW DO I TURN BAK ON????

turn on your camera
press the menu button on the back og the camera
using the switch to the left of the screen, hit the left side once to move the screen cursor to the small icon on the left of the menu screen that looks like a "penci".
now click the button to move the highlight back to the right side then move up or down to select "07" Image Review.
hit the 4 way button on the right side to show the two options, on or off.
move the highlight up or down to select the one you want (assuming you want "on"), then press the center of the 4way button, "OK". now when you shoot a picture it will show up on the back screen until you touch the shutter release button again.

Hi there When I shoot in 16x9 widescreen with my Canon XL1 the viewfinder shows the same image as when shooting in 4x3. Can this be adjusted. Regards John

It is not showing the same image, it is showing the 16x9 squished down to the 4x3 aspect ratio. I thought I had the same thing at first too. But to check & make sure set up a shot of something square in one or the other shooting ratios. Then go into the menu & set it up on the 16x9 on/off. To make it easier to see the picture hook up to a monitor to see the picture without squinting through the eye piece. Now while you are watching the picture switch the 16x9 on & off on the camera. If you started in 16x9 the square will lengthen from side to side in 4x3, while the square in 4x3 will become squished on the sides. If you can't tell, take a piece of tape [removable tape that is] and make the sides of the box before & after you change the aspect ratio.

Camera problem

Normal 0 Try this, while the computer is running and the picture is upside down, unplug the camera from the USB Port , wait a few seconds and then plug it back in. I have fixed several that had the same problem by doing this.
Worth a try.
Hope this helps. Bud

G1 phone camera doesnt take pictures

As the others said, there are the two settings. I had a similar problem, then realized how it worked. You need to not press very hard while it focuses first. Then you can press all the way down, if you hold it all the way down, it doesn't recognize that you've already passed the first "Focus" pressure point and gone into the second "Capture" pressure point.

If your previous pictures are showing fine on LCD, we assume it's working.
Check the bad pictures on PC - I suppose they'll look as bad as on the LCD, then take camera for service.
