Question about Vacuums

My brand new Everflourish emt 757 timer clock will not work out of the box (packet actually). There is no display even when plugged in. I think at the end of the very vague instructions it says that the device will be fully charged after 2 hours. It doesn't say that it has to be charged in the first place before programming. I plugged it in over night to be sure. There's still no display. I wonder whether you know of something that I am missing od not understanding with thanks G. M. Pavey

Pretty simple fix here, that is not in instructions. Below the led display is a reset hole. Use fine piont ballpoint pen and insert here and the display will appear.

Same problem here. Pretty sure the internal NiMH battery is fried (internal short), but they are hard to locate. I have replaced them with supercaps before but this is not recommended unless you ensure that they are of the protected variety as charging a 2.5V supercap to >3V will destroy it in short order! RIP 10F $16 part.

The timer does not have a reset. It is to tell how many hours it has ran for maintenance purposes.

Vacuum seems to have lost some suction and is harder to push on carpet

Start by installing a new belt. Belts lose elasticity fairly quickly. And should be replaced at least twice per year. Belts lose elasticity even if the vacuum has never been used. It's possible for a brand new vacuum to actually have been assembled a year or two ago which means it may end a new belt before it was ever used for the first time,

My Tork 1101 24 hr timer has stopped working. I hear it running, but the clock will not turn. I have to turn it on and off manually for my pool pump. This happened 2 years ago, then the following year...

You might need $45 clock motor for for Tork 1101 120Volt.

I have a t103 timer but the clock does not run, the pump does.

This is a simple wiring problem. If it will not work when plugged in then the wiring for the clock will need to be re-attached. If you have the skill then do so, or take to a local small appliance repair shop. This will be an easy fix.

I can't find the manual and need to reset the clock. Help!

We have no idea what product you're talking about. You've posted it in the "Vacuums" section of the site, but I can't imagine your vacuum has a clock unless it's one of the new Roomba robots with the timer on it. Post the question again, and include the exact part number of your vacuum.

GE 7 day timer 15091 set day and time and set programs correctly. Timer works right for several days then timer resets itself and loses time and programs. This is the third GE timer that I have...

1) If you have chronic problems with electronic timers, then circuit is suspect. Buy cheap circuit analyzer and plug into same outlet. Try timer on different outlet on different circuit breaker. Change Load (lamp, fan) to see if same problem occurs with different load.

2) Maximum load for GE 15091 is 600 watts incandescent. There is no HP rating, so timer probably not made for motor loads since motors draw high initial amperage. For heavier duty timer, with 1250W incandescent and 1/3 HP, select Woods 59201.

3) I have tested GE timers. They are made well.
The 15091 is sold under different brand names, so it is successful design that's been around a while.

I am installing a ge #15070 basic timer and there are 3 wires. Which wire do I attach to the ground?

GE 15070 timer does not have ground wire.
I assume this timer is double insulated, just like some power tools and electronics only have two prong plug.
Leave bare ground wire attached to other bare grounds in the box, and shove grounds to back of box.
I have one of these timers installed.
Timer has red, black and white wires
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15070

How to wire GE 15070 timer:
1) Switch has 2 insulated wires. Take switch wires and connect them to timer-black-wire and timer-red-wire. Choose either one for now.
2) In back of electric box are white wires twisted together and covered with wire nut. Connect timer-white to these wires.
3) If electric box does not have white wires described above, then connect timer-white to bare ground, along with timer-green wire.
4) Turn on electricity, and slide switch to ON-or-OFF. If lights come on, timer is wired correctly. If lights do not come on, then reverse timer-red and timer-black wires.

6) Also take advantage of fixya phone service.

How do I program a Micronta programmable timer--I set the time to have it go on, but how do I set it to go off?

LCD Programmable Timer (630-0892) Operation Faxback Doc. # 17153 Setting The Time and Day Follow these steps to set the current time and day. 1. Slide RUN/PROG/TIME SET to TIME SET. 2. Press HOUR to set the hour digits. Pressing and holding down HOUR rapid- ly advances the hour digits. NOTE: P appears to the left of the hour digits to indicate P.M. hours. 3. Press MIN (minute) to set the minutes digits. Pressing and holding down MIN rapidly advances the minute digits. 4. Press DAY until the correct day abbreviation appears. 5. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. The colon flashes to show the clock is running. NOTE: Keep this switch set to RUN to prevent accidentally changing the time. Setting The Timer The timer has 14 settings (1-14). Odd numbered settings specify a time to turn on the appliance and even numbered settings specify a time to turn off the appliance. Follow these steps to set your timer. 1. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to PROG. The display shows the first setting. If you have not entered any setting, the display appears as shown in the illustration. 2. Press Event to select a setting to enter or change. 3. Press Hour to set the HOUR digits and press MIN to set minute digits to the correct time. NOTE: Be sure P appears to the left of the hour digits when you want to set a P.M. hour. 4. Press Day to select the day of the week for this setting. If you want the setting to apply to every day of the week, repeatedly press DAY until all day indicators appear on the display. 5. When you finish entering the setting, press EVENT. The timer advances to the next setting. 6. Repeat Steps 3 through 5 to enter additional settings. NOTES: Be sure to set the timer to turn off the appliance. The appli- ance remains on as long as there is power if you do not set a time for the appliance to turn off. To replace an existing event, select its setting number and set the new event time. To clear an event, select its setting number and press CLEAR twice. Be sure to clear both the on time and the off time for an event. If you set the timer to turn on the appliance every day, be sure to also set the timer to turn off the appliance every day. 7. Set the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. NOTE: You must set this switch to RUN to turn on or off the appliance either automatically or manually. When the timer automatically turns on the appliance, ON appears on the display and the indicator lights red. When the appliance turns off, the indicator turns off. Reviewing The Settings To review the settings in your timer, set RUN/PROG/TIME SET to PROG. Setting 1 appears on the display. Repeatedly press EVENT to view the other settings. NOTE: To determine event being programmed, pull the power for a period of 5 minutes. Then re-power the unit. The first event will be "ON" and the next will be "OFF", etc. There will be a number to the side of the display that tells you which event you are programming, The even numbers are "OFF" and the odd numbers are "ON" events. Roomba 4108 does not charge

Try resetting your Roomba by removing the battery, unplug the charging connector, hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. This will reset the charging system, replace your battery, connect your charger and see what happens. By the way do you also have a homebase ? If so try that too
