Maybe it needs to be reprogrammed after new batteries. What is the model number on the remote, please?

I have a Hampton Bay ceil fan model # AC-552 "NN" and the serial # 000371. We had lost power in our neiborhood a while back and was use the generator and when the power came back on our fan didn't work....

Hampton Bay is an exclusive brand of Home Depot. They would be the ones to help you with that. BUT .. from my experience I would say that the cost and trouble of getting and replacing the motor in that fan would be easilly rivalled by the cost and ease of buying and installing a new fan all together.

I HAVE A HAMPTON BAY MODEL AC-418 CEILING FAN. IT

Your issue is most likely a faulty speed control. The part is integral to the remote receiver in the fan housing. You can purchase spare parts for this fan through Home Depot (Hampton Bay) Service at 800-654-0688.

The fan unit itself is manufactured by AirCool 800-896-4908

Remote no longer works

There is a battery in the remote and a battery in the receiving unit located inside the cup at the ceiling where the fan swings to and fro. replace both batteries and you should be in business.

No connection between the fan remote and Ceiling fan

The remote-controlled fans that I've seen all have DIP switches in the transmitter (the "remote") and receiver (up by the fan). For the remote to operate the fan, both sets of switches have to be set to the same code. If you happened to bump the DIP switches (and change the code) while replacing the battery, the fan would no longer respond to the remote.

It's been four months since you posted this problem, so you've probably figured that out by now. Still, other users may run into the same problem occasionally.
