Making thumping noise and burning clothes

You list no brand or model so an answer must be somewhat vague. A loose drum causes the noise described while it also allows air to leak from outside the normal air flow path causing erratic high/low temperatures contributing to burning. Sometimes clothes can also get caught in the gaps caused by the tub moving excessively which causes tears, pinches and rips in clothing. Most dryers will have rollers and/or glides to carry the weight at the front of the drum. Check to determine if these are worn, loose or broken. A few models carry all the weight at the rear of the drum (Frigidaire and some GE) so check the rear bearing for excess wear and replace as needed. It's always a good idea to also clean debris and lint from inside the cabinet while the dryer is disassembled for repairs.

My goodman unit (1994) makes the loud noise, like a buzzing noise. The unit works, the blower blows air into the house, the air is cold, but the outside fan that blows across the condenser piping isn'

you need to replace your condensing fan motor. the noise you are hearing is the compressor working against a lot of pressure because the heat is building up in you condensing unit. Prolonged operation without an operating condensing fan motor will cause your compressor to burn up, and then you will have the cost of a compressor changeout to the cost of a condensing fan motor.

Black & Decker Toaster Oven - elements cycle on and off, which makes for a SLOW cook.

Oven has three modes: 1) oven mode cycles elements on and off to maintain a specific temp setting for up to 60 min. 2) toast should keep all elements on for a few min. 3) broil mode top elements only always on, up to 60 min. Make sure you have dials in correct position and use the toast timer.

Uneven rotation of basket, bang noise, water spills

if you can open the door, grab the inner basket at 9 and 3 o'clock and see if you can move it sideways, then again at 6 and 12 o'clock and move it up and down,if you can do this, then the drum spider trunnion is broken in behind the tub and the tub is loose which will require a new tub and trunnion as they are not sold separately at about $400.00

I have a kenwood amp. The fan is running but no power is running my subs. I have changed all fuses and checked all connections but it still will not turn on how do i solve thus problem?

Check your subs. Make sure they are not toast. Sounds like the amp is on, but it seems like its not working, when it could be your subs burned up. Push on them, and if they don't move and are rock hard you cooked your subs.

Other things it could be.
  • Bad RCA cables.
  • Incorrectly wired subs.
  • Amp in protection mode(must disconnect power to amp for a minute to reset)

Noise some times and fans dont work some times

99 out of a hundred times - when the fan motor on a window unit 'makes noise and works intermittedly,' you have a bad fan motor which will require replacing.

Sounds as if the fan motor's bearings are making noise - which - would account for the fan working only part time. The reason being is that the 'bearing noise' you are hearing - is a result of the bearings being wore out - thus it causes the fan motor to heat up and 'go off' - on the internal overload' which is built into the fan motor.

Like I said above - most commonly the 'fix' is to replace the motor.

I have a 2004 honda ody. First I was having left turn signal problems, sometimes it works when the headlights are on and sometimes it doesn't. Last night all the dashboard lights went out. I don't have...

First, let me advise you that a blown fuse is never the cause of an electrical problem. They are allways the result of the problem. A blown fuse is allways the result of an electrical overload that could potentially burn your vehicle to the ground. Replacing a fuse without finding out and correcting WHY the fuse was blown is a total waste of time and effort and will only result in another fuse having to give up its life to keep your car from toasting itself.

The problem you are describing sounds a lot like a mutifunction switch shorting out. It needs to be checked for this as well as the connector to the multifunction switch because the connectors usually get burned. This could also be a simple flasher module problem.

My unit is interrupting the startup and burning the 220 breaker, any thougths?

I would say it sounds like the compressor shorted or one of the three wires is/are grounding out. This should trip the breaker not melt/burn it. The other option is that the condenser fan is not coming on thus causing the compressor to overload and toasting the breaker. I am assuming that you have a 30/40 amp breaker. Once you install a new breaker the turn the unit on and see if the outside fan is working and is the compressor is running. Hope this helps tim

No picture or sound

If you had a burning smell, well the board is toast. These sets are made to replace the entire board at one time. Before installing the replacement module, the picture tube should be checked. A defective picture tube ( such as a G1 short) may cause a failure in the power supply section.
