Puddle We just noticed a puddle from under our 4 months old frost free frigidaire upright freezer. It's in our garage so the water isn't really a problem....but I'm wondering why it's leaking? I looked in the book that came with it and couldn't find anything in the troubleshooting part. Is there something wrong?

All frost free freezers have to defrost the coils. there is a drain pan or cup in the bottom .. if it overflows or it can't drain out you will get puddles check the drain hose and drain cup or pan.. also check to see if you have ice inside the bottom of you freezer that would be a plugged or freezing drain hose..call for services if only 4 months old...

Frigidaire frost free upright freezer door corner dripping

Hello Yellow, thank you for your post!

I understand that your Frigidaire freezer is dripping water out of the corner of the door. It is possible that with your power going out the heat may have caused the gasket to warp. Do you see any frost build-up? The water that is dripping could be coming from condensation within the freezer. I would recommend checking the gasket to see if it is allowing warm air to enter the freezer.

I recommend that you visually inspect the door gasket for defects such as gaps or tears. You can also use a dollar bill to test the door gasket. Place a dollar bill in between the door and the body of the freezer. If the dollar bill pulls out with no to little resistance, you may need to replace the door gasket. A faulty door gasket can allow warm air to enter the compartment and cause frost to condensation or a leak. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

there is a chance that the drain hole in the back of the freezer is plugged or block and needs to be clean when the unit is defrosting the water is dripping in the cabinet instead of out the drain.

Frigidaire upright--"Hi temp" warning light on door. Don't know why freezer temperatures are so high (into 30s), food is thawing. Electrical seems to be fine. Have not noticed problems with door. New...

2 months old should still be under warenty.

Check the freezer fan by opening the freezer door and pressing the door switch and listing for the freezer fan sound. If no sound then the fan motor could be bad.

Look at the back wall too see if you have frost build up. If you do then you have a defrost problem.

If thees are not your problem you could have a seal system problem. (( freon leak ))

My Frigidaire upright freezer is only 4 years old & isn't working

freezers have safety devices to protect themselves. The compressor has an internal overload to keep it from overheating. some have external reset buttons and some do not. either way the cause must be corrected. if the freezer was low on refrigerant you would see signs of oil near the coils, tubing, or compressor. If there is no leak, it overheats when there is airflow restrictions(dirty coils) or a fan has stopped working. only a few screws keep you from seeing all there is to see. If it is clean and the fan is running, then the compressor may just be the culprit

Not Freezing

Check the door seal all the way around. We purchased one recently that was slightly dented (not noticeably and the seal was not tight.) You need to get in touch with whomever you purchased it from immediately so that it can be repaired or replaced.
