CLX-3160 image offset or margin shift

When printing (most of the time, but not always), the page prints about 1/2 inch high, i.e., a half inch less margin at the top and a half inch extra margin at the bottom. It does this when printing from computer, or does the same thing when using the copy function from a page on the glass.

I also get paper mismatch errors, and all the printer settings, computer settings, and application settings (multiple apps) are set to "letter". I think the errors are related.

Again, sometimes it prints correctly and does not give the mismatch error.

How do I change margin setrtings foe Lexmark P4350

If you are preparing to print a document that you have created in Microsoft Word, you may be concerned that all the text on the page will print exactly as you see it on your screen. This is not always the case. You can adjust your print margins to ensure that your text prints on each page exactly the way you would like it to appear.

Opening Your Document
Open your Microsoft Word document by double-clicking the Word icon on your desktop. If you do not see the icon on your desktop, then you can locate it where it is buried on your "Start" menu. Click "Start," followed by "All Programs." Then click "Microsoft Office," followed by "Microsoft Office Word." A new document will open on your screen. Click the "Office Button," followed by "Open." Scroll through the files listed, and double-click the one you would like to print. It will open on your screen.

Check Your Margins
By default, your page margins are set to 1-inch margins on the top, bottom, right and left of your page. You can check your margins or change them by clicking "Page Layout," followed by the "Margins" button.

Select New Margins
Select a different margin size, such as "Narrow," which indicate 1/2-inch margins, or "Wide," which indicate one-inch margins on the top and bottom and two-inch margins on the left and right. You also can select "Moderate," which indicate one-inch margins on the top and bottom and 3/4-inch margins on the left and right. Finally, you can select "Mirrored," which indicates one-inch margins for the top, bottom and outside. The inside margins are set at 1 1/4 inches.

Print Your Page
Print your page. Press "Control" plus the "P" button. The printer dialog menu will come up. Make sure that "All Pages in Range" is selected. Press "OK." If your printer cannot print your new margins, then a new menu will pop up telling you to adjust your margins.

I hope you find it very helpful. Best regards.

What do I do when my CLX 3160 FN Printing shadow images.

clean the nozzles first. if you are using refilled ink then most probably its time to replace the entire cartridge since refilled ink is filled up on the old cartridge & in due time the nozzle becomes wider with use leading to shadow images being printed.

I have a Samsung CLX 3160 Laser printer that has uneven printing of Black print only. It prints other colors properly, so it is likely the black laser cartridge feeder port that is partially clogged up,...

If your printer prints like this with faded or uneven print,

slamfix_20.jpg The problem is with the developer in the imaging unit. The problem can be fixed by either replacing the imaging unit for $100+ or you can fix it yourself by cleaning the imaging unit. You will need simple hand tools and if you are careful restore the print quality of your printer. I have a link to instructions that should help you http://www.fixya.com/support/r4120906-clean_developer_blades_samsung_clp_300 Hope this helps you.

My samsung clx-3160 colour laser printer does not print very well.all prints are barely neglible and now most times no print or characters appear.I have installed new ink cartridges. Please advise.

If the problem is only with Black output you need to change the Black developer of the Imaging Unit, Else you need to refer to the Authorised Service center. Else you may change the complete imaging unit by yourself.
