Question about Comdial Impact 8324S Corded Phone

Open Question

We have an older system of the Comdial Impact phones. When we moved into the building the phones and service were included. They have never had voicemail set up and we were needing to get it set up. When we bought the building no information was given to us about the phone system. I'm not sure who to contact to go about getting voicemail set up for the first time. If you could please let us know what needs to be done. Thank you!!

The only way to fix it without your vendor getting envolved is to try to reboot your voicemail server/phone switch(depending on the model of your system it can be inside of your switch or separate computer).

you will need to log in from a main phone or phone with LCD screen and go to the set you need to set to default in the menu...this maybe only be done through your vendor unless you know the system password to get into the configuration mode.

Comdial phone system Extension number


In a standard Impact system the entire universe of numbers is 10-41 in a standard E-80PT. You could dial 0 or 10 from the unknown extension and read the display, or just start dialing each unknown or sequentioal number until it rings.

Need to know how to change time on Comdial GCA70-281


  1. Programming the time and date for a Comdial Impact digital phone system must be done from the attendant's station, usually the phone located closest to the Comdial controller. Go to this station before attempting to change the time.
  2. Step 2 set-clock_thumb.jpg Now the phone system's clock is ready to be reset. Without picking up the handset, press the "Intercom" button on the phone. Dial * # 0 1. The digital display2.gif should read "Set Clock"
  3. Step 3 Set the year by dialing two digits (00-99)
  4. Step 4 Set the month by dialing two digits (01-12)
  5. Step 5 Set the day by dialing two digits (01-31)
  6. Step 6 Set the hour by dialing two digits (01-23)
  7. Step 7 Set the minutes by dialing two digits (00-59)
  8. Step 8 set-clock2_thumb.jpg Comdial Impact phone with updated day and time. Pick up the handset and set it back down to set the programming changes. The new date and time should display immediately on all phones connected to the Comdial system

Intercom light flashing


I'm guessing it's only on extension 10 or 11 :-) It is telling you that the system is in NIGHT mode. Try pressing INTERCOM and #.

It's a toggle between DAY and NIGHT service.

My phone keeps getting paged from other phones in the building


There is a command to put your phone in 1-4 or no page groups. It can be programmed from extension 10, but it's easier to do it from a terminal.

Unless you are familiar with the programming, which is fairly easy, it's best to call a Comdial service tech.
