Try to defrag you external hard drive, cek your hard drive wether there a bad ? sometimes bad cluster can running slow for copying your data or else.sorry my english is poor.thank anyway
An external Hard drive is used to store information in any format. Ususally it is connected to USB, but it may happen that it is connected to either e-sata, which is the fastest or firewire.
when connector is inserted into the socket (USB, e-sata, firewire) Windows will automatically detect it. You can find your external Hard drive in My Computer, normally labeled removable drive. You can then double click it to access the information on the drive, or copy information to the drive. This means you can easily make a back up of all your files. Now if you so wish you can store it for backup purposes or you can use it to transfer information, contained on it, to another Computer/Laptop. An external Hard drive does not make your computer faster, but it does in a sense make your computer perform better,as it takes away the need for that data to be stored of your main boot hard drive. Therefore making virus scans on your PC run quicker and your PC has more space on it's main boot hard drive to perform tasks if it needs to.
Please rate my expertise, it's the thumbs up on the top right hand side of this solution.
Thanks
Fist clean your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor specifically around your central processing unit making sure there is no moisture in the air line
as dust will cause a lot of static which will make a computer overheat and cause lots of problems
Try replacinng all leads that are attached to your external hard drive then try uninstalling a few unnecessary programs then click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/f which will automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive then defragment your hard drive good luck with this
run the command prompt, by going to start run and entering "cmd" then enter "defrag" followed by the drive letter. if this doesn't work, enter "defrag /?" with the space for more options
