I have had this problem with unformatted cards. But the problem is that when you format something, it erases what is already on it. So if theres nothing important on the card already, go ahead and try to format it.

I bought a 2gb micro sd memory card and it was working properly. After a week i tried to format it . Since that day my memory card became read-only . Then i scanned it using an error detecting software...

If you're using a SD card adapter to connect it to your computer, please verify that the adapter lock switch isn't active, this can set your SD as read only.

My phone doesnt detect its memory card but when i connect it to pc ,, my pc detects memory card but my mobile does not???? Phone: videocon V1422

The problem is, that you type of phone can only handle a maximum of 2 gigs.
When you connect it to your PC it detects it, because the PC uses them (phone and sd), like two separate drives, and that's because when there is SD -> Phone -> USB cable -> PC, the uses the as a simple "cable".
So unfortunately you will have to buy a 2 gigs SD.

My computer does not detect my mico sd card, I was refommating the card and a error came out now it doesnt detect the card at all the card is new and it worked before

It would be nice to know what the error said but it should be fairly easy to figure out what the problem is. Either your card died or was corrupted or there is an error in your card reader hardware.

If the card can be formated or read in another device or computer you know the card is ok. You can format these cards in almost anything such as a digital camera or pda.

If you can read a differant sd card in your reader then you know the reader is ok. If not then either the hardware has failed or perhaps the driver for it had a problem and needs to be reinstalled.

I've seen problems with either but mainly bad cards. There are a lot of fake ones out there that look very close to the originals but fail just like yours did. If it is the card reader your options really depend on what it is in. If it is built in then you could get it fixed or replaced but on a laptop that would mean a new motherboard and a few hundred dollars of cost. You can buy a external usb card reader for just a few dolars. If you look for sales you usually can find a deal where they give you one with a new SD card.

My micro sd wont read on my computer or phone & when i put it in the camera it says ''memory card error'' help!

1. If your Micro SD memory card can be detected on your computer, then try to completely format the card.

2. Goto Start >> My Computer >> Right-Click the memory card icon >> Format >> Uncheck the Quick Format option >> Start >> OK / Yes (confirm the request!).

3. If the memory card cannot be detected / readed by your PC, phone, and camera, then that card has become corrupt / unrepairable,

4. You should replace that memory card with a compatible one!

please rate this advice if it helps...tc! :)

Memory card reads Media Error

it sounds like you have a system conflict with the readers on the sd cards they wont last long if you use them alot going back and forth on it what i'd do is get 2 cards one for each system and only use them for that system only but the problem is the more you transfer media and erase it and do again it burns out the disk about the best you can do is get a bigger sd card and send all the info to 1 system then print it from your computer

Maybe you can try to reset the phone back to factory settings (you'll lose all your data!!): 'Home' > 'Settings' > 'SD card & phone storage,' then select 'Factory data reset.'
