Question about Microwave Ovens
The door lock is commanded by a small electromagnet - if there's a fault in it it simply locks the door as a safety measure, if it's a fault in it there might be other faults elsewhere.
To open the door you must dismantle the oven: unplug it from the wall and wait for al least 4 hours, unscrew the bolts from the bottom and the rear that hold the top and side panel attached to the case, from the rear tilt and lift the panel to free it and remove it - now the locking system is directly accessible; using a small sharp object press on the blocking pin and open the door. With the door open test the electromagnet for faults or try to find out why it failed to function - wire interrupted, bad connection, the programmer might be faulty.

In most cases this is due to a broken door opening lever or loose or broken door latch / hook parts.
They can only be accessed and examined if the cover is removed from the microwave.
In many over the range models, you can access the door parts by removing the control panel assembly.
Sometimes you may be able to get it open by pushing up gently on the bottom of the door while pushing the button, in case you need to empty it.
ALSO NOTE THAT....
Take a look at the button you push to open the door.
You will need to remove the panel the door button is on and get to the back side.
This is very easy to do after you remove the cabinet.
The button you push to open the door is held in place with four tabs. If one of them tabs break it jams the button.
Hope this helpout ,Good luck...
