Uninstall internet explorer 8 and try reinstalling it. If that dont work i would seriously think of doing away with Vista and go buy a Windows 7 upgrade disk.

If you have the same operating system, same internet explorer version (from any page click the help button on top of page and select "about internet explorer" to see), and same version of Adobe reader then you might consider running a virus scan. I.E is a target for malware.

My Internet Explorer Vista is not working , the curser forms a ring and then it gets stuck I think it might be infected or something

The Internet Explorer may generate error message " Internet Explorer Stopped Working" or it may freeze when you open it.

Microsoft has provided a Fix-it file which diagonalize the issue and resets the Internet Explorer, resolves the issues in the Internet Explorer.

Please open the below link:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926449

As soon as you open this link, a prompt will appear on the web page mentioning about Fix-it.
There will be an option in the window " Run Now"

The Fix-it file will download in the Computer and ask your permission to Run.
Click on Run Now.
The Fix-it application will run and resolve the Internet Explorer issue.

Good bye and Thank you for using Fixya..

Can anybody help me figure out why I get the below message and how I can fix it? Thank-you Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; .NET CLR...

Internet Explorer 7 cannot display a particular element on a Web page on that Web site.

Workaround 2 loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); You can turn off friendly HTTP error messages in Internet Explorer. This workaround still lets the error message appear. However, Internet Explorer does not move away from the page after the error occurs. This workaround works only for Internet Explorer 6.

To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click to clear the Show friendly HTTP error messages check box under the Browsing section, and then click OK.
  3. Close the browser.

Certificate error on web site.

This is basically an Internet Explorer 7 Website’s Security Certificate problem! You have to self-sign the certificate on the client computer or add the URL manually to the trusted security zone. When you are trying to access a secure web page, you receive the warning message:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority."

Or

"Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept data you send to the server."

To fix this issue, you can follow either of the methods:

Method 1:

You have to install the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS) self-signed certificate on the client computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
  • Click Certificate Error button to open the information window.
  • Click View Certificates > click Install Certificate.
  • Click Yes, to install the certificate, when warning message appear.

Note: For Windows Vista users, right click on Internet Explorer icon. Select Run as Administrator.

Method 2:

Add the URL to the Trusted Sites security zone:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Go to Menu bar > Tools > Internet Options.

    tool.jpg
  • Click Security > Trusted sites > Sites

    sec.jpg
  • Type the URL in the Add this website to the zone text box > uncheck Require server verification >Add > click OK

    trust.jpg
  • Click OK to exit.

Now you have added the URL successfully into the Trusted Sites security zone.

WEATHER.COM error message

Internet Explorer 8 has a "compatibility view" button.
Click it, to see if 'weather.com' works, when IE8 is imitating IE7.

Then, wait for the webmaster of WEATHER.COM to make the web-site compatible with IE8.

How do you fix the internet explorer

You do not say which version of Windows you are using or the version of Internet Explorer so here is a general idea to fix.

If you are running XP or Vista download the new version IE8 and install it. Here is the link:

The issue usually occurs if you are using windows xp drivers on a vista machine. It's strange that the error does not come up when printing from internet explorer 7.0.

There is a file on support.dell.com that you can run to remove any xp drivers and then run the vista installation file. that should take care of these error messages from the operating system.

you can copy and paste the following links to download and run the files :

Patch file to remove xp drivers:
