There are three reasons related to this error; Lamp flashing Red,
1. This happens when the media roll/label roll or the handle tip is bent or folded down, Please check the label roll once again and make sure it's not the problem.

2. When the temperature of the Printer is too high, the lamp will keep flashing red. But in your case, I don't suspect this. As a precaution, i just included this. This can be fixed after the printer is shut down and left for few minutes, so that the system is cooled.

3. When Print head isn't installed correctly or positioned properly. Reinstalling the print head will fix this issue.

Please try No.1 since this started after you changed the label roll, and try no.2 and no.3 if it doesn't help.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Sometimes it's simply the Internet Browser settings. Go to File, then Page Setup and change the margins to 0.1 and all footers and headers to Blank or Empty.

position fault is normally a problem with either the formatting or the printer is not calibrated correctly.
Hold the feed button down until at least 3 labels pass by the sensor.
Also check to see the sensor is directly over the die cut on the label if more than 1 up label

Datamax i - 4208

If you use ms-access you must have installed the windows driver, therefore you must enable the cutter in the printer properties. Position fault is that it does not detect the label, must be press the FEED key or to calibrate, press the FEED key for 5 seconds to calibrate the sensor label.

Datamax problem

You probably need to adjust the leveling cam if you have not done so already. This is the green thumbscrew near the print mechanism.

Check inside the green guide (sensor) for pieces of label. That will block the sensor. If the sensor is reporting a thickness which is double (250) what you expect, then that is definitely the issue.
