My samsung HL-R5087W tv has a darker than usual picture and then it shuts off and the display has a triangle with and exclamation mark in it. Can someone help me please??? I have already replaced capacitors in my bedroom 40" tv so I know how to do that. the capacitors on this tv dont look bulged...

Could be either the bulb has burnt out or the bulb ballast needs replacing. I have the 5687 set and it is dynamite.

After reviewing the service manual for this set, the problem is is in the DIGITAL BOARD. To get the right Digital Board you will need the Version number of the TV.

I have been having a similar problem with my Samsung # HL-R5087W.
I will be watching the TV and then it will lose the the picture, just sound. I then, turn off the TV for a minute and turn it back on. Works for another 30 minutes to 2 hours til it happens again. Weird!

usually that means you have external speakers to close to tv and magnets in the speakers do that
