Question about Washing Machines

The draining is the clue. The pump mounts on the motor. The motor is a double shaft type that drives a pump on one side and the transmission on the other. Between the motor and transmission is a coupling. These couplings break from time to time from a low water heavy load, a rug or comforter usually finishes off a coupling thaMy Roper extra large capacity washer is not - 0249487.jpgdy on it's way out. If it was the lidswitch the pump would not work. I believe it is the coupling. When replacing this part take care not to jam it up against the transmission or motor and cause binding.

Tips for a great answer:
Hello Marjorie, thank you for your post!
From the information you have provided water will fill, drain and spin but your Frigidaire washer is not agitating. This could be a problem with your motor, belt, or pulley. Locating the problem is not a simple DIY job and I would suggest seeking assistance from a professional. They have the appropriate tools needed to disassemble your washer and prevent any future issues. I hope this information is helpful to some degree. -Matt
