You will need the upfraded kit for the heat elements. Actually when you order the heat element this is what you will get. You can order this part online.

My electric dryer works but doesn't heat up. what could be the problem?

You probably need to clean out the exhaust, or, you have recently moved the dryer an the exhaust hose is kinked.

The dryer has an overload/overheat reset button underneath. I just posted the following for someone else:

You will need to take the front off of the dryer. On the top of the dryer, remove the two screw covers on the left and right side of the front under the dryer lid. Remove these screws and lift the top cowling up to see two more screws to remove so that the front of the dryer comes off. In the front, bottom, there is the red reset button. Once you know where it is, you can actually reach it from underneath the dryer without taking the front off.

Be sure to check that the exhaust is not blocked by lint, or that the flexible pipe is not kinked. These are commong reasons that the dryer has overheated. This reset button is your friend and it is telling you that there is danger somewhere. Try to find the cause to prevent an accident.

Where is the reset button on a fisher & paykel dryer model DEGX1, also where is the heating element located?

Always disconnect power first and take the front off of the dryer and locate the heating element. On the front of the heating element, in between two wires, there is a red button. Push the button and you might hear a click that sounds similar to a circuit breaker. It is a reset button for the heating element. This should fix your problem, here is a website if you need further assistance, Good Luck Tim:

DEGX1 that was not heating correctly. Cleaned behind lint trap and pushed the reset button (did not feel tripped though). My question concerns the "Sensor Conductivity" or two chrome bars at bottom of...

Make sure that onw wire is coneected to the top bar and one wire connected to the bottom bar. DO NOT connect both wires to one bar, it make short out the control circuit. Go to http://fisherpaykelparts.net/techhelp/fisher-paykel-top-load-dryers-us-models/ . This forum make further help you through your problem.

Dryer run but no heat

Try pushing the reset button located inside the dryer housing. (Remove top, then outer housing 'wrap around', reset button is behind the outer 'wrap around' metal in the front of the dryer.)
