Question about GE GSS20IEP Side by Side Refrigerator
Hello Pam, Welcome to FixYa. In actuallity most fridges whether they are side by side, conventional top mount, or bottom mount, the control for the fridge section is nothing more than a damper which allows or prevents air flow through the fridge section. The thermostat which control the "run time" or actual temperature is the freezer control. It is possible to set the fridge control at "1" and yet still have items feeze because the freezer control is set to "3", "5", or higher. Try adjusting the freezer control to a lower number as well and see what that yields. You may also want to vacuum out your condensor coils under the unit...( unplugging the power cord first of course ;) safety first ) this too can cause items to freeze in the fridge section. Without getting too deep into how it all works I'll just say it effects the entire system negatively. Hope you find this an acceptable solution and can take a moment to rate it accordingly. Thank you for visiting FixYa and please let me know if you require further assistance. macmarkus :)
