Not playing ps2 games

Ps2 plays generic games but not ps2 games.please advice

    my ps2 plays vcd but not plays ps2 games.whenever i insert a ps2 game it says plz insert a ps2 compatible dvd.plz help me out.really serious!!!!!!!!

Either the game is scratched or the game is not for the ps2 hope it helps XD

Your best bet is to find a gaming repair shop there must be something wrong with the circuitry and/or the laser might need cleaning

ring sony i think the disk drive is the problem
call them even if you are out of warrenty and see what they say

Only the first 60 gb ps3's have backwards compatibility... If that means anything.

Without ps2 sftware we can play ps2 games


If you mean can you play PS2 games without a PS2 then yes, you can get an emulator which you can search for on google, please remember though that if you intend to play the games then make sure you own the game physically as this would be a breach of copyright.

ps 3 will not play ps2 games unless you have the data from playstation store and then you can only play them on the 20,60,80,160 gig playstations

when you change the laser it is not just a matter of remove and replace ..you have to have the right gear to set up the lense..all versions have different settings

Hi Faizy,

 

It should play Cd, Cdr, and DVD as well.  If it will play PS2 and ps1, it should have not problem playing the other three.  If your discs are dirty that was cause it not to read.  If its more can you please expand on what is happening.

In this case the optical unit (laser) is malfunctioning. Please check the type of optical and provide a replacement in order to repair the unit. If you need more info please advice.
