Question about Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Headset

1 Answer

Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Headset MAC OS 10.6.4 Headset shows up on Bluetooth listing as paired but not connected. It's charged, and turns blue when pushed. At that point, the listing changes to connected YES for less than a second before changing back to connected NO. I basically use it with Skype. Help?

Try to do a manual pairing on this unit and with your mac follow this hold down the power button on the dongle AND the power button on the headset until the blue light on the dongle flashed.

    What is a dongle?

  • coachleslie Jul 12, 2010

Or should I say there is only one button to push...on the actual headset (earpiece?)

I don't understand what else I need to push.

And I did already try the blue/red flashing...since the headset is already paired with my MAC, nothing changed.

Try to remove first the bluetooth headset from the list of devices on your computer and restart the mac and then try to pair again the unit.

Ok thank you for the comment, can you try to pair this bluetooth to a different device like a cellphone so we can check if it will work or not , because if still wont work on a different device the bluetooth headset needs a software upgrade.

  • coachleslie Jul 12, 2010

    no other device available...sorry.
I was using it with Skype the other day and partway through the call, Skype froze. I rebooted my entire system, and when I rebooted Skype, the Bluetooth connection had disappeared.
Could this have anything to do with my problem?

Yes that can cause problem like this, and for now the best way to check if this is a problem with the bluetooth device is to try using it on a different unit and if same problem the unit got corrupted and better having it replace.

Thanks...will talk to my neighbor and see if he will let me try to pair it to his PowerBook. Will have to wait until tomorrow as it is late night here in Japan. Thanks again for your help.

Problems with dicovery 925 keep blinking purple light and can't pair with the phone help

Something you may want to try is start from the beginning. Check to make sure there are no other bluetooth devices loaded onto your phone that might interfere with the process. Turn off your phone. Disconnecting the battery of your mobile for 30 seconds and reconnecting helps to reset the phone. The instructions for turning off the headset and re-pairing the two devices are located in the following link for the Plantronics Discovery 925 User's Guide.

Plantronics 925 connects to my Blackberry Bold but disconnects within 2 seconds

Looks like there is a battle between two or more equipment items.

Are you using more bluetooth equipment on your Blackberry?

Then delete them from your phone. And try pairing again with the 925.

Then activate the option for automatic connecting with the 925.

After this you can connect the other bluetooth equipment but do not set either of them on automatic connection.

Hope this will work.

When I make a call using the bluetooth, I can hear who I am talking to through the bluetooth, but they can't hear me?????

Make sure both devices are fully charged. Turn off your phone and disconnect the battery for about 30 seconds (this helps to reset the phone). Make sure there are no other bluetooth devices interfering with the connection. Turn off your headset and carefully follow the pairing instructions on the link below for the Plantronics Discovery 925.

How to connect the LG Voyager - plantronics discovery 925?

From all my research in the past few days (1-11 March 2010) I have found out that bluetooth hands free via bluetooth is not possible with the Motorola Droid or the Eris Droid. The problem is with the Google android operating system not your bluetooth device. After calling Motorola and Verizon tech support, both say that "They are working on it." I really hope they update/fix their os because I really want to buy a couple of their phones. They said to wait until 31 March 2010. Hopefully they will get their act together.

    Switching on discovery 925

Switch the bluetooth function on your phone, search for devices and then pair with your headset once it finds it. Allow it to connect without confirmation and leave your bluetooth switched on on your phone. Everytime you turn on your headset it should connect automatically.
