Question about Ryobi 30 Cubic Centimeter Curved Shaft Gas Trimmer
Problem is...the factory adjusts these machines for a sea level situation.....if you live at any altitude at all they need to be re- adjusted....these things never work right out of the box....sounds like your engine is starving for fuel...a lean condition...on the side of your carb toward the front of the engine you will see two small adjustment screws....one marked H, and one marked L, these are your high speed adjustment and low speed adjustment accordingly. start with the L adjusment screw ( the one nearest the engine) and turn the screw counterclockwise in small 1/8 turn increments until a smooth idle is achieved....then throttle up the engine and see if it stalls. If it does do the same with the H adjusment screw ( the one nearest the air cleaner) until you get a full throttle response. If your machine is like mine, it has screw heads that require a special tool to turn....it is available on ebay for about 10 bucks....google "ryobi tools" and you should find it ...the screw caps are plastic so if you don't want to buy the tool you can do as I did and saw slots in the screws to allow you to use a fine point screwdriver to adjust the mixture screws...just remember...turn the screws counterclockwise = more fuel, clockwise = less fuel ....hope this helps ;-D

If is NEW than just take it back where you got if they cannot remedy the problem they will give you a new one, simple do not try to be a mechanic when you do not have to. Customer is always right remember this, if not ask for a manager and raise your voice and you will see what happens. Ask your wife or better half about returning things, anyway Good Luck PAL
