The solution to this problem is use in this format

pv+en= total cash -exp.=npv

i.e present value+earning =total cash at hand - expenses = net present value

solution
rs 45 + rs 14 = rs 59
.'. rs 59 - rs 55 =rs 4

Here you need to under stand the question properly.The waiter returned the 1 rupee to the three freinds.So the remaining 24 rupees is the expense occured for them including the bill and waiter tips of 2 re.
24*3=72(bill 70 re+waiter 2 re).Remaining one rupee has been given to each of them.

I would enter a bill for the $6.00. When you paid the original bill and added $6.00, QB simply thought you were overpaying and is probably carrying a $6 credit as a prepay.
