Please immediately call sony support, in case your unit is in warranty, they would do an inwarranty repair on your unit. I used to work for sony in 2005, at that time they did not have a policy of giving you a replacement unit in warranty. I do not have any idea now.

You may want to check and see if the fan is moving inside and nothing is obstructing it.has the memory been changed or added?

The cooling fan may be faulty or clogged with dust. Check the fan, clean the dust off the fan and heatsink fins. replace the fan if it does not spin freely, especially when the laptop is running.
If if fan is OK then you can purchase a laptop fan assisted cooling pad, place the laptop on the pad to get further fan assisted cooling.

My sony lap top gets hot the fand ned to be spid up

You won't be able to do it unless it's some really expensive high end laptop. I'd suggest buying a laptop cooling pad or at least putting something under between laptop and table/your lap/bed/wahetever to make some space for an airflow.

Why is the laptop getting so hot

Air vents on the bottom get blocked, this will eventually fry your motherboard. Make sure the vents are on the bottom can breath, if you need it on your lap (lol) buy a cooler fan for your model.

Playing games it gets very hot and turns off. only had 3 days

It is important to remember that laptops draw in air from the bottom of the unit. So if you place the laptop on your bed or a nice fluffy pillow on your lap to keep your legs from getting hot, then it can't draw in air and it will over heat. The second thing to remember is that, while they are good laptops, Acers are generally not the best for gaming and the internal graphics card may be getting over worked.

Why is my laptop so hot and running all the time? it's only 1.5 years old?? programs are slower too.....

It is normal for hp laptop to get hot when it is running. my own hp laptop will burn my lap if i put it on my lap while running.

If your laptop is slow, free up space in the hard disk because if the hard is fill up, it can make the laptop to be slow.

If it is still slow, then the laptop is contacted with a virus. scan the system with updated anti virus and delete the virus on your laptop or you format the laptop and re run windows.

Thanks for contacting Fixya.

Just got the lap top back today and now i have blisters agian. I realy am not looking foward to hireing a attorney, the bbb,and any one else that will listen. If i end up with scars on my legs i will who is...

i do not work with asus but i have dealt with them numerous times and they have the best customer support i have ever dealt with. and they speak english. i would send the laptop back and have them look at it again. laptops do get very hot, they generate a lot of heat. i would suggest a laptop tray so you dont have to put it on your lap. whenever a laptop is not properly ventilated it can cause a lot of problems. including on getting extremely hot. i dont suggest you put any laptop on your bare skin.

Overheating for sony vaio vgn-bx546b

Make sure that the laptop is on a hard surface. If it is on a bed or on your lap, it will get hot because the fans are being blocked up and the hot air can not escape. I hope I helped.

The bottom of my computer gets extremely hot. what causes this? and how can i fix this issue before it ruins my computer?

For starters, don't put it on any soft surfaces, like bed, your lap, or anything of that sort. A laptop has small "feet", and when placed on a hard surface they elevate it so that there's some air flow from the bottom of the laptop case. If you put it on a soft surface, the material gets pressed against the air inlets and blocks the air flow.
If you work a lot with your laptop on your lap or bed or such, get yourself a laptop stand on which you would put it, or use a substitute, like a kitchen cutting board of suitable size.

If however the laptop is used on a hard surface and still gets very hot, it can mean a couple of things:
- the "feet" under the laptop have lost their rubber ends, which give them the appropriate height
- the air ducts inside the case are filled with dust residue, making it harder for the radiators to disperse heat.
If your rubber "feet" un-glued themselves, it will be hard to replace them with exact equivalents. You can try sticking some rubber/silicone self-stick bumpers used in furniture to dampen the doors.
If dust is suspected, compressed air can be used to blow it away through the air inlets and outlets (the latter usually are grilles on the side or rear of the machine).

Toshiba Satellite L15-S104 Gets VERY HOT

Make sure that there is good air flow all around the laptop, including the bottom. By resting it in your lap, you may be constricting the air flow. This is one of the reasons why laptops are now called notebooks! They really don't work well on your lap. When I use my notebook, I make sure that the fans have a clear path so that I don't have this problem. Try that and see if it works. You could also use a notebook cooler. They run about 20.00, depending on the type and size.
