Question about HP DeskJet 812c InkJet Printer

Printer will not work..

Printer green light on. Red X on bottom-cable 1 not connected. Have checked all cables-connected as I see them. What else to do?

Did you by any chance installed the driver software while the printer was already powered-on and connected? If this is the case - disconnect or power-off your printer. Uninstall the software from your Control Panel - reboot. Leave the printer off - reinstall the software - the HP Program will ask you during installation to switch-on the printer - upon wich the driver will be installed automatically - do not siwtch on the printer before the installation progam (HP Diver CD) notify you to do it - and VOILA.

Red light next to green light is on(not flashing), 79 error (does not work)


79 errors are usually firmware related on newer HP models. Disconnect any USB or Network cables and power cycle the printer. If it will come to read, connect a USB cable from the printer to a computer with internet connection. Then you want to go to www.hp.com and search for the current firmware for your model which will be a program you download and run and it will automatically update your printer. Also ensure that if you are connected to a network that you clear all print jobs from any computers that might print to this printer.

Resetting waste in absorber code for IP4900


You ink absorber is full

1. Download canon service mode tools v3400 from the net.
2. Set the printer in Service Mode: - power OFF the printer bu Power button. Dont disconnect power cable
- connect the printer by USB cable to the PC.
- press and hold Resume button (red triangle in the red circle) and press Power button
- hold both buttons until power on indicator will light then release resume button (dont release Power button) and press Resume button 5 times
- release all buttons - the printer will blink few times with green light and will then light green constantly. You have put the printer in Service Mode now and you can now run the Service Tool. (If the printer is still blinking by green - you have some other errors in printer and you have to fix them first, because the Service Tool will not work if the printer is not put in service mode - green light is constant)
3. Run the Servicetools V3400.exe program.
4. Select the connected USB port number from USB PORT
5. In the Ink Absorber Counter section of the Service Tool, select MAIN from the Absorber pull-down menu.
6. From the Counter Value(%) pull-down menu, select the value (in 10% increments) which is the closest to the actual counter value confirmed before replacement of the logic board, and click SET.
Print EEPROM information to confirm that the value is properly set to the EEPROM.

I have an imac. Everything turns on but it won't print.


Hi,

Here is a simple solution that can help to resolve the issue.

First is to check the lights on the printer, check the online/error LED if it is green or red, if it is green then it is working, if it is red then there is an error. You can also try to check the cables between the computer and the printer it might be loose. If everything is working in the printer and the cable is properly attached you can try to reinstall the printer driver or try the printer to other computer. If your using 2 or more printer make sure that your printer is on default.

To test the printer:
Press and hold down the cancel button for about 10-15 secs and it will print out.

If you need to install the printer driver you can also download the driver from this link.

When I put my printer on, both the red 'on' light and the 'green' problem light are flashing intermittetly . I have tried to reset the printer by pressing the 'green light' down for a few seconds..but...

The power cables are working The printer clearly


i think you should check the cable that connects the printer to the computer. I suggest you change the cable and see if it works.

My 1290 has been working fine doing a lot of printing today. I have tried to print additional work but have alternative flashing red and green lights. I cannot replace the ink cartridges as it will not...

Not know if it will work for your printer but you can gave it a go.

Step 1: Manual Temporary
1. Turn off the printer. And disconnect the printer cable.
2. Press and hold the POWER button, turn on the printer.
3. The indicator (L.E.D.) should be green.
4. Press and release the RESUME button , the indicator (L.E.D.) should be orange.
5. Press and release the RESUME button again, the indicator (L.E.D.) should be green.
6. Release both buttons.

step 2 : Software for Permanant
1. Reconnect the printer cable.
2.Open General Tools software and select (USB PORT2_bing.gif)
3.Choose (SET DESTINATION 1) And it should be reset.

Sofware Download "After service mode Pls use software for permanent reset

The red light is blinking and it doesn't print.


There are actually some certain meaning on the red light and green light showing different information to user. The summaries are:
1) Green On, Red Off = Printer Ready.
2) Green Fast-Flashing, Red Fast-Flashing = Printer warm up.
3) Green Fast-Flashing, Red Off = Printer off-line.
4) Green Slow-Flashing, Red Off = Processing Data.
5) Green Off, Red On = Cover Opened, Toner Empty or Developer Unit / Drum unit missing.
6) Green Off, Red Fast-Flashing = Paper Jam or waiting for jam reset.
7) Green Off, Red Slow-Flashing = Paper Empty or Paper tray is not inserted.
8) Green Off, Red Off = Printer power is off.
9) Green Very-Slow-Flashing, Red Off = Printer in sleep mode.
10) Green (any condition above), Red Slow-Flashing = Toner low or paper empty.

So what is your printer condition? Better know what is going on your printer so can solve the problem.

Not printing


Hi ,
There may be several causes for this problem.
I will tell you one by one, and you try it.

CAUSE: 1
The printer is not
receiving power.
SOLUTION:1
Check the power cord connections.
Check the power switch and the
power source.

CAUSE:2
The printer is not
selected as the
default printer.
SOLUTION:2
Select Xerox Phaser 6110
Series as your default printer.

CAUSE:3
Check the printer for
the following:
• The printer cover is
not closed.
• Paper is jammed.
• No paper is loaded.
• A toner cartridge is
not installed.
SOLUTION:3
After locating the problem, clear it.
If a printer system error occurs,
contact your service representative.
• Close the printer cover.
• Clear the paper jam.
• Load paper.
• Install the toner cartridge.


CAUSE:4
The printer may be in
manual feed mode
and out of paper.
SOLUTION:4
Check the message on the Status
Monitor program window, add paper
to the tray and press the
button on the control panel.

HP laserjet 6L


Get it cleaned in paper sensor area and check up the drivers as well as data cable which connects, the pc and printer. Change the data cable if necessary. Give me feedback so that may be some more help can be provided.
