COMPUTER WON'T RECOGNIZE CAMERA TO DOWNLOAD PICTURES

Often, if you simply connect the camera to your computer by the appropriately connectored USB cable (the camera is likely to have a mini connector; there may be one with the camera) the computer will recognize the camera, and ask if you want to download pictures using the windows wizard that exists for the purpose. You may need to be connected to the internet if you want your computer to search the internet for installation/or appropriate software.

This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.


Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

If you insist on using the USB connection, do not go through a hub. You can't get enough juice through a hub to download pictures. Connect the camera directly to a USB port.

You will have to have a GE camera driver for that camera to communicate with the computer and download the pictures.

Computer does not recognize camera and unable to download pix???? It sounds like a bad usb cable connection. Try purchasing a new cable.
