If the defrag is running slow and/or runs along time but does seem like finishing look at how much free space you have. If you have less than 15% free space this will not allow you to get a good defrag of the system. You might try moving some files to another drive while you do the defrag. Also try uninstalling some programs this can help too. Then after you get the system defraged then you can put the files back and reinstall your programs.

I could not upgrade neither windows XP, Windows 7 of this Product Model: GT5662. Would you assits? Thanks.

Hello kelvinvu, according to the information that I gathered from this computer model, it has Windows Vista 32 bit home premium installed on it. Windows XP is an older operating system so you can't "upgrade" to it. You could however install a fresh copy (more likely completely erasing all your previous information on vista and data files) or you could upgrade to Windows 7. Since you are using "Windows Vista 32 bit home premium", you have to upgrade to "Windows 7 32 bit home premium" or better. So if you were trying to "upgrade" to Windows 7 Home Basic, it will not allow that since it considers that a downgrade in the Operating System. You should actually be able to pop in the Windows 7 Home Premium CD while vista is running and start the upgrade process pretty painlessly that way. Just access the CD and walk through the menus for upgrading Vista to Windows 7. As a reminder, you must use the 32 bit discs. If you try and use the 64 bit discs (a different operating system as far as windows is concerned) you will have to go through the same process of installing a new version of windows (not upgrade). I hope this has solved your specific problem kelvinvu, have a great day!

My friend bought a new dell laptop & got vindows vista home premium for free when i wanted install that vista in my pc it installed on my pc bt now it is not activating with my friends vista's...

Hi,
I assume you are using the Vista disk that came in with the system. Even though you can see a product key on your friends computer, It would not work on your own computer because that product key is intended only for that DELL computer. The windows Vista that your friend has is an OEM copy of the operating system. The product key should match the Hardware of the OEM computer for it to work.
I suggest you get a genuine copy of the operating system for your self.
Hope this helps.

My computer can't defrag, it just runs for hours on end.

I haven't used the default defrag prog in windows for a long time but it was always known to take forever if regular defrags had not been performed.

This will be the case for any defrag prog. however there are faster ones out there. Try the following free one and defrag weekly.

My desktop computer is running very very slow. . The operating system is Vista. What can I safely run to clean it up?

CCleaner is good and it is free, it can help you to delete computer history and junk files to free up disk space, then clean the registry. But to be honest, I prefer to use other registry optimizer software since CCleaner does not have a defrag function.

I have vista windows home premium and my laptop says no operating system can i just get the driers nd add to the laptop

If your computer is not even loading Vista (another words, you can not logg in or anything) and you are getting this error message, there could be two possible things wrong.

One, your hard drive may have crashed. You will need to purchase a new one (unlikely but could happen)

Two, Microsoft Vista may be corrupt. This can be caused by viruses, etc.

A fix for this would be:

Note: You will lose everything on hard drive, pictures, music, etc.

Start the computer and press f4 at startup. Choose advanced options. Perform a factory restore. This will take aproximately 2-6 hours depending on your system. You will not need any disk.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Error -need to re-install the operating system

Insert your Windows Vista Basic CD into the CD ROM drive and restart your computer.

It will autoboot from the CD and you can reinstall Vista Basic.

Should you have further problems don't hesitate to give more details.
