Question about GE Profile PDS22SBRR Stainless Steel Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

GE bottom freezer model PDS22MBRBWW gets too warm

I have a GE refrigerator/bottom freezer model PDS22MBRBWW purchased Jan 2005. The freezer temperature is wildly variable, even when the freezer door is not opened (we see the digital freezer temperature when we open the fridge). It can be at 0 and then two hours later we see it is at 12 and climbing. Or we open the fridge in the morning and see the freezer is at 15. It has reached 21 or 22 (with us constantly pushing the down arrow to lower the temperature) and then it will finally start to go down. There is no apparent rhyme or reason as to whether it stays cold or starts to warm up. The warming happens so quickly, it is almost like heat is being put into the freezer. I have verified there is nothing catching in the door; the door seals properly. It doesn't seem to be an air circulation issue; this happens regardless of whether the freezer is full or half full. There is nothing blocking the top, sides or back of the fridge. The front top panel of the freezer door does seem to get quite hot, but I was told that is to prevent condensation on the outside.

Since it occasionally goes back to 0, nothing seems to be absolutely broken, but why the variation? Every time I open the fridge I see the freezer is at a different temperature and I am having to try to get it colder. It has never gone above freezing, but I am concerned that frozen foods are not being kept cold enough - and our ice cream is usually mushy.

The problem is with the freezer not getting cold enough / not staying cold / fluctuating wildly in temperature for no reason, even when the freezer door is not opened.

    The refrigerator temperature is fine.

Condensor Fan Won't Come tries but won't stay spinning.

The click noise make me think you have a relay on the main board that moves, but has bad cntacts, thus not providing power to your fan. The possible good news is that if your model was manufactured between Jan 05 and July 06, you can get a replacement part (the motherboard) at no charge from GE.

Freezer works but refregerator is warm

If this is the model I am thinking about, you have the same compressor for each side. There should be a vent or opening that you can adjust to let cool air inside the refrigerator. Find it and adjust. You may have this opening blocked by something. Let me know if this fixes the problem.
