Question about ViewSonic VX910 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Blue screen I have two ViewSonic 19" monitors that have worked perfectly since 2004, Using the settings and driver for ATI, the manufacturer of my 2400 Pro card for desktops. Suddenly one of the monitors is displaying a deep blue color cast nothing I've tried so far has changed that, including: re-installing the current driver; recalibrating using Spyder graphics, and switching the connections for the two monitors. This latter move made the secondary screen the primary screen, but still blue. So I'm lead to believe something has suddenly gone wrong with the monitor (can't imagine what) but want to explore other possibilities before replacing it.

Hello,
Hello,

All you have carried out would have been my first suggestions, but since they are already done, it means the problem is that the picture board on your monitor has started malfunctioning, since the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity or any service center to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

I just upgraded to Windows 7 and can't adjust the resolution on my screen. I have a 19'' Hanspree HF199H monitor

Changing the resolution on the screen is the job of the graphics card on the computer. Either run windows update or visit the card manufacturer support site and search for an appropriate driver or software package. ATI and Nvidia both have "control panel" add-ins that will come up when you right click on the display. scroll down to the control panel and all your settings will be there.

Most times when i turn on my computer, the screen flashes.

it means your computer has caught the ati2dvag bug. This bug seems to affect ATI video cards.

The 2 most common “solutions” are:
  • Reinstall the ATI driver. You are advised to launch Windows in Safe Mode (press F8 before Windows boots), go to Windows Add/Remove programs and uninstall everything ATI. Remove the DAO/MDAC component as well. You can use the ATI removal tool utility which can be downloaded from the ATI website. The complete set of instructions on removing ATI can be found here on the ATI website.
  • Go to System Devices in My Computer > Properties > Hardware, and locate the option, PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge. This could under other names on your PC, so contact your PC vendor if you’re unsure. Right click, and select the “update driver” option. Manually search and install the PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge.

ViewSonic 19" flat screen monitor goes black - intermittently

Hi,
There could be a problem with your display card settings or the display card itself. If you are using Windows operating system, make sure that you have the monitor driver installed for that specific monitor. This is to ensure that Windows only allows settings for which your particular monitor was designed.
Let me know if I can assist you any further regarding this.
Best wishes,
Graemevm

ViewSonic VP171b resolution problem

If you went from a standard screen to a wide-screen, you have to upgrade the video card.
Also, try going into the menu option on screen and have it automatically detect settings.
First thing you should do is update your drivers.
Should have said that first.

You may want to look into your video card settings about the vertical settings. Most monitors usually have just a millimeters off. I suggest to contact your computer manufacture or video card manufacture.

you need to set the resolution to 1400x900, if this is not an option in the Display settings you should download the apropriate driver for you graphics card.  once you have ascertained  what make (nvidia or ATi), and model, go to one of the following for the latest drivers.
  • nvidia; http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
  • ATi; http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
After installation and reboot, you can then select 1400x900 screen size i the display settings.

Viewsonic vp912b lcd display will not work.no DVI

Yes you can but there should be an option in the monitor settings for DVI... Maybe if you go into safe mode and attempt adjusting settings for the ati for the dvi output, from what I hear that monitor is nice with the DVI option would be aa shame to lose that.
