WS-65513 Image keeps going blank now its off completely
My 65" 65513 has been losing its image for the last couple of weeks. I would turn off the TV wait about 30 seconds and then turn it back on and it would be fine. Today it finally stopped getting an image all together but I still get the menu screen. I dont get an image on any of the TV's Inputs just black screen. I need help. Thanks
Re: WS-65513 Image keeps going blank now its off...
Power light stays on and the sound and video go out, began slow at first and got worse to the point of going off just seconds after turning on. Solution: Vacuum out inside and get better air flow to the interior. I had taken the wheels off mine and restricted the air flow. I have taken off front and back covers and have a box fan in front and has been going for an hour now, where as it was going off within seconds. I could not find the answer anywhere, so I had to share ;-)

It could be a loose component video cable, check your TV menu or another device when it goes out. If you have red in the menu or other device, it cannot be your CRT. The Crt is somewhat hard to replace but if everything goes great it isn't too bad. I usually mark all the yokes and magnets with a marker so I can put them right back in the same place and the picture should be about the same. Sometimes you need to do a lot of adjustment and that is when it can get tricky, kind of depends on how "identical" the new CRT is to your old one.
The continues blinking 99.9 % of the time is four caps on your DM board. The caps are C9B01,C9B02,C9B10 and C9B11 they use 1000UHF the upgrade caps are 680 UHF- 35V. The board is on the very left hand side (from back).
I have performed this repair at least 50 times and it takes me still about 1.5 hours. If you are not handy and do not have a solder station, I would recommend that you call a factory authorized service dealer to perform this repair. With service call and ect. it will cost you around $550.00 and the repair can be done in the home, of course prices varies across the country.
Good Luck, Day, Big Irish.
Have you looked at the DM board fix yet that's available here. http://www.fixya.com/howto/h154057-mitsubishi_dm_board_repair
Check it out. If the inside of your TV set does not look like this, you will need to get the service manual to disassemble the set and get to the DM board, but use the rest of the guide to repair the board. If you are successful, you will save almost a 1000 bucks! Good Luck
