Question about HP Photosmart 2575 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Since an 'hp update a couple of months ago, IJT compatible cartridges HP344 are repeatedly rejected under the guise of "Printer cartridge problem - remove, check and replace colour cartridge" - all to no avail. I am wondering if, as the rejections started happening on the part used cartridge and also on a new one, HP may have injected a worm, or whatever you call it in the last update so that 'Compatible' colour cartridges are rejected. I should be grateful for any advice. please, because up until now the 'all in one' printer has served me well, and I am reluctant to bin it. With thanks, John Budden

Recognition of cartridges depends on several issues. Check and clean the metal contact points on the printer cartridge slot. Use rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and pat dry. Do the same on the ink cart. Any oil/film on the contacts can interfere with the communication network of the printer. Sometimes, printers just reject cartridges, mainly if you use off brand products. Naturally HP wants you to use their cartridges! Other than that, you must use HP Software updates for the computer and also, update each HP Printers FIRMWARE. Lots of folks forget that!

After you install a print cartridge, the attention light begins toflash red. The printer will not print. One of the following messagesmay appear on the control panel:

* Color or Right Print Cartridge is not compatible

Solution :
To solve the problems related to Cartridge Errors we can do the following 4 steps. Which could help us to get the issue resolved

Step 1: Remove, inspect, and reset the problem cartridge
Step 2: Clean the problem cartridge contacts
Step 3: Repeat repeating and cleaning steps

Step : Remove, inspect, and reseat the problem cartridge and Clean the problem cartridge contacts..

a) Make sure the printer is on. Press the Power button if it is not lit.

b) Open the printer cover, then wait until the print cartridge carriage is idle and silent

c) Press down lightly on the end of the problem cartridge to release it.

d) Slide the cartridge out and inspect it:
* Check the Copper electrical contacts (the Copper Part which touch the Connector inside)
* Clean it with the pirit or wet cotton)
* Check the Nozzles - Clean it with the worm wet cotton
* Wait for 2 to 5 min befour you connect them back
* Clean the contacts in the carriage, inside the product (Printer)
* Reinstall the cartridge.
* Reconnect the product to the electrical outlet.
* Close the product cover.

Bypass expired message cartridge. Cartridge is less than six months old & nearly full.


Hi,

Every cartridge will have its own ID and Expiry date, please check the Cartridge expiry date, if its really expired then printer will reject it even-though the cartridge is full.

We cannot bypass cartridge errors for single cartridge in INK-JET printer, because they work in TIJ technology (Thermal Ink Jet) which needs all cartridges to be functional unlike Laser-jet printers.

New Cartridges - not all color ink printing!


It sounds that the ink inside the cartridge has partly dried up.

This can happen to my printer when I don't use it for a couple of months too.

Oh yes HP can regionalize the printer for you. You need to call the UK HP and speak to their tech people. There is a specific reset that can be done and once it's complete you are able to use the 363 cartridges.

0844 369 0369 is there number and they do not charge for support for regionalization calls even if printer is out of warranty.

I recenlty had the ink cartridge #57 and #58 refilled at my local walgrens and when i went to insert the refilled cartridges the printer screens reads: remove and check cartridges.....what do you think...

Missing yellow when printing/even after many cleaning attempts!


new ink cartridge is much advisable. but for expriment basis i will tell you to place the ink cartridge in the bowl of water only the head from where the ink comes out in the water for nearly 24 hours.then remove the cartridge and clean it completely.then check. hope this helps............

Cartridge 57 failed

I think I may have solved this problem. What I did was take out the #56 cartridge and hit the print button. It started to calibrate and then said it was printing on reserve or something? Yup, it printed with only one (#57 cartridge). After that, I stuck in a new #56 cartridge and so far so good for it only happened yesterday.

I hope this solves your cartridge #57 failed problem. Let me know if it does.
