Question about Sony DAV-C450 System
The Sony DAV-C450 is an older product (2002) and its own remote control has stopped working. I have now tried several different universal remote controls (including a Sony) but cannot quite make it work fully.
I have a few options:
Universal remote control for audio speaker: I have a BOSE Cinemate GS series II remote control
Universal remote control for television set: I have an LG remote control that came with my TV set model 42LB1DR.
I have a Bell Expressvu Satellite/PVR remote. It is a UHF Pro remote and is probably a pretty typical model, branded Bell. It is controlling an HD PVR, 9241. It is a very typical Bell ExpressVu remote control.
I even have a SONY Universal remote control, but it has only achieved partial remote control of the Sony DAV-C450, definitely not all the functions.
I have tried entered DVD player codes, I have also tried entering it as an AUX Sony device (because it is both a 5 Disc DVD player but is also a 5.1 tuner)
The remote that I would most like to make work with it is the Bose remote.
I will soon be getting a modern Blu-Ray player to go with my system, though, so this problem will soon be eliminated.
But, if someone out there can help by solving the code riddle, it would still be appreciated, as I may give this system to my Dad for use at his home.
Sorry to revive this old post. I have this remote control and the service technical of my city said me what not along fix. Can you show me how to remove the case? I need to bring the case and follow your solution.

To repair your original remote, open the remote and remove the buttons sectio.(normally a solid piece of rubber with the buttons) On the PC board of the remote, clean with a scotchbrite scourer to revive the circuits and make it shiny. Next, clean the rubber button section on the inside with surgical spirits. Replace cover and fit new batteries.
