The coffee comes out bitter on my Delonghi Magnifica

I think this is because the water is heating up past 175 degrees. Have a fully automatic Jura Capresso at the office and same beans taste super. Is there a way to get my DeLonghi's water temperature set to 175?

The coffee comes out bitter on my Delonghi Magnifica
I think this is because the water is heating up past 175 degrees. Have a fully automatic Jura Capresso at the office and same beans taste super. Is there a way to get my DeLonghi's water temperature set to 175? I keep the inside unit clean and service it with the liquid decalcifier every 300 cups. Additionally, I only use RO UV water in both systems, and the Delonghi still comes out bitter. If I need to regulate the temperature of the water, how (or where) can I get this done?
    Thanks!

Your machine is fully automatic and the manufacturer has left you with only two temperature settings. The logic behind giving two temperature settings is that few like it hot and few like mild. Hence, If you wish to lower down your temperature and your current temperature is high or vice versa can be done.
Temperature control! For that extra hot Cappuccino or Latte move the frothXpress Plus dial from the "-" settings towards the "+" settings to increase the temperature.
In any case if this does not works with your machine Kindly let me know your model number so that I can provide you with accurate solution.

Thanks for your suggestion. I am out of town and don't have access to the Delonghi until this weekend, but will try it then and let you know.

Just got back home. Went to the menu to see that someone (housekeeper?) had turned the temp up to Extra Hot. I dialed it down via the menu and all is well. Thanks for your (and everyone's) great help.

Coffee tastes bitter due to dusty got collected in the interior.Clean the filter as well as the interior of the machine. Then check out. First thing to do is clean your coffee maker, people don’t realize that this is necessary. Pick up a coffee maker cleaner or us something like CLR deluded in lots of water.
Next, if the occasional coffee is bitter the trick to fixing it is a pinch of salt. By pinch I mean just a few grains. The sodium reacts with the acids in the coffee and removes the bitter taste.
clean your coffee maker with white vinegar and water. Run it through a few times then run clear water tho a few times.
But still if the coffee taste is similar and no change then yes its the problem of warming plate in the coffee maker. Its getting overheated and coffee is getting overheated from what is not required and the taste changes. The heater unit needs to be checked. If the element is short it needs to be replaced.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Thanks. I am pretty anal about keeping the machine clean both physically in the internal parts I can reach, and with the regular cleaning liquid the machine requests after about 300 brews. I will try the salt and vinegar steps when I get back from out of town, but am still skeptical, as the Jura Capresso gets the same care and the coffee comes out perfectly. If the heater is malfunction, where should I get it serviced? It was originally purchased at Starbucks. Thanks! This was a super fast response.

One more comment/question. Since this is a fully automatic coffee maker, it does not allow me to run vinegar/water, or just water through the coffee maker without grinding and compressing beans. How do you suggest I run the vinegar solution through the machine? Should I just brew beans with the vinegar?

yes that is the only option in automatic coffee machines to run vinegar.
thanks for keeping updated with your query.

You need to be patient and keep pressing the rinse button. I took a few water tanks of rinsing before it clicked over to heating mode. The manual and DVD need to mention this!

Sometimes certain beans do not move freely throughout the grinder. Oily beans, which is not necessarily a bad thing, do not fall into the grinder easily and tend to stick. It is necessary to sometimes to just poke or stir the beans around with your finger to make sure they fall into the grinder. For a safety measure do this while your machine is turned off.

I have problems with my jura capresso f60, it no longer makes coffee, it grinds the beans, but no liquid comes out. On the screen it says open tap, we have no idea how to fix this.

Machine thinks that there is no water getting to the machine. Majority of the time, this is caused by blockages of coffee in the brew group due to improper cleaning. I'm not saying that you haven't been cleaning it but that is usually the cause. How old is the machine? And has there been a cleaning tablet been put through it every day? Advise removing the brew group and check all pipes are clear, clean all loose coffee and check if you can blow through all of the pipes if you can loosen them. Clean coffee outlet/spout also. If the machines water is fed from a tank, It could also be a small bit of dirt has been pulled through. Hope this helps.

My jura impressa c9 coffee machine keeps tellnd me to fill beans when bean container is full

I just called their customer service 800-220-5701 with the same problem.

There's a point at the bottom of the chute where you can add ground coffee that tends to clog, especially if water gets in there. Access is from underneath - - remove the bottom tray and reach in - - it's not the hinged flap opening (that's the first thing you'll feel) but if you leave that closed and reach behind it, there's a silver-dollar sized area you're supposed to try to access and clean using a dry cloth. Once that's done you're supposed to try vacuuming from the top and then let it dry for a day or two.

Jura E9 grinder spins but does not grind

I had a similar problem, and solved it by turning the grinder by hand against resistance. Apparently the grinder wasn't really turning during the cycle and needed to be cleared. If your beans are "hopping" this may be a different problem.

Fill beans message keeps coming up on jura capresso impressa s9

You need to open the grinder, it`s probably packed with old fine powdered coffee that blocks the outlet. Clean this out and try again. Since it works normal when you use pre-ground coffee, there shouldn`t be any problems with any other parts.

Let me know if you want a description for have to open and clean the grinder.

Good luck!

Where can I find an Jura Capresso Impressa F9 replacement lid

The only sources I have been able to find are in Europe. They do not always wish to ship to the US however. In the US the dealers always want the repair, but seldome wish to sell parts outright. Try this website for parts.

One thought is to call Capresso for the recall to fix electrical cord. They will pay shipping both ways and fix any problems for free as part of the recall. Worked for me, might be too late now but worth trying.
