Question about HP OfficeJet J4580 All-In-One Laser Printer

My J4580 All-in-one will not scan, copy or fax but it prints fine. I think the scan light is not working. I've only had iy for 9 months or so. HELP.

From hp.com:

Before you can scan directly from the printer control panel, you must have the printer's Full Feature software package installed on your computer . After installation, you use the HP Solution Center software program on your computer to set up the options for starting scans from the printer. You also use HP Solution Center for creating scan settings and starting a scan from the computer.

Did your printer ever work correctly?

If so, then try to uninstall completely the hp drivers from the control panel for your printer.

The, completely re-install the printer's full feature software package from the website located at hp.com

Did you use the cd-rom that came with the printer?

Also, what is the operating system you are using, Vista or 7?
and what version?

FAX is option do you have the FAX kit installed???, Scan is normally a kit also on that legacy Konica machine. if you have the IP address to the machine place it in your url box, if the machine is networked you should see the copier own web page

I think you must delete the drive and reinstall anew drive for it

Can't scan on the HP OfficejetJ4580


Uninstall everything that has to do with your old HP printer, drivers, photo processing, etc. Reinstall software with J4580 printer. That should open HP Digital Imaging Monitor where you can set scanning options. Plug printer into the back opf your computer. Plug power supply directly into the wall socket.
